How I Started:
I was always a bodybuilding fan thanks to my father's influence. He was one hell of a Spaniard with Popeye-sized forearms and could knock out people twice his size and beat them hands down at arm wrestling. He bought me my first Muscle Magazine with Rey & Mike Mentzer featured while Frank Zane was the reigning Mr. Olympia. I would watch every contest held in the Philippines from Mr. Asia to Mr. Universe with Lou Ferrigno as guest poser. I was always pretty athletic as a kid playing football and doing field events such as shot put and discuss throw but I was always on the fat side so I never really saw any muscle until recently when I started shedding fat.
Why I Love It:
It gives me a personal sense of fulfillment which nobody can take away.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at my before pictures every single day and track my progress from there and when you've been as out of shape as I was - you never go back!
BB Accomplishments:
Going from 276lbs. down to 198lbs. in December or a 78lb. weightloss.

I'm tired of trying to be like everybody else. Now I wanna be like no one else. I wanna be me!
My heaviest weight was 276 Lbs. when I turned 37, this pic was at 263 Lbs, at the age of 39. I was turning 40 in a few weeks which is when I decided to turn my life around. My waist was 47 inches - sucked in!
Taken after the usual Sunday group aerobics at the baywalk. Looking harder this time without much effort. I feel I am able to remain lean and not bloat up even when I'm not training as hard. I look forward to taking it to high gear again soon. The break has done me good.
This guy is a prepetual motivation machine. I admire people like him who are strong both inside and out. Keep motivating others big man, that must be your destiny and very similar to mine which is why I think we have this kinship from many miles away. Rock on my friend!
dbhulk is a good example of taking care of your own body and being the superhero to your family. Very hard to find balance between both but he gets the job done just the same. We both value the same things, our body being the temple of the soul, our God being our source of strength and our family being our biggest treasure here on earth.
For some reason I just felt like writing this. I don't know if I would call this a song, a poem or just a bunch of phrases I strung together. All I know is I wrote it for people - myself included - who are going through tough times and need some encouragement to never quit and just stay...
Congrat on the weight loss. Your recent pics show you are really make some good progress with your nutrition and training plan. Keep it up and good luck with the gym.
