"I want to gain 10 pounds of lean muscle mass while maintaining around 8-10% body fat by the end of 2008."

When I Started:
Jan, 2007
How I Started:
After playing competitive sports in high school & college, I took up working out at the gym to stay fit as I entered the corporate world. Finally after many years of on and off training, I've made the decision in 2007 to take working out seriously.
Why I Love It:
- Challenging myself mentally & physically everyday
- Building discipline that can be applied to all facets of my life
- Feeling energized before starting my work day
How I Stay Motivated:
- Focusing on realistic quarterly goals
- Seeing progress in the mirror
- Working out with other highly motivated people @ 5:30am every workday
BB Accomplishments:
None at this time. Right now I'm working on my foundation. I'll do the EAS Body For Life competition (size and strength) again in February. If I can add 10 lbs of lean muscle mass in 2008 while maintaining less than 10% body fat, I will consider entry-level competitions.

I had another good workout this morning. In the past, I've never worked out my legs hard... mainly because my legs have been one of my strong areas... but I've read many articles lately about increasing one's bench press by developing more powerful legs. Has anyone had that experience?
SUMMARY - February 2008
Day 1: Chest and Arms and Cardio (intervals)
Day 2: Legs and ABS
Day 3: Back, Biceps, and Forearms
Day 4: Rest - optional ABS & Cardio
Day 5: Chest (Machines) and Arms
Day 6: Rest - optional light cardio
Day 7: ABS and Cardio (intervals)
Just chiming in here. Try a scoop of protein in with your prework out drink or what I used to do when I worked out early was mix a vanilla or chc MRP with about 8 oz or so of cold coffee right when I got up and pound that. Worked great. Best of luck.
Hey bud, I work out in the early mornings as well. Before going to the gym I have a small bowl of cereal, cup of coffee, and one scoop of whey protein. When I get home I have a bagel and 2 scoops of whey protein. Send me a PM if you have any other questions.
Yeah I've been making steady progress with my strength. Cardio I have my good and bad days. But I continue to focus on the goals in my head regardless of what my mirror says.
