Overall Goal: 10-16-09 New workout to burn more calories while lifting a little faster and lighter is taking a while to get used to but I think it will work
Fit Status:
putting the most in the 4 days I can hit the gym. Kind of sucks working 12-13 hour days but I can workout fresh
Basically I was a skinny little dork, at least now I am not skinny, lol. My freshman year of high school I was about 5'9" or so and about 135lbs, tall and skinny. I joined the powerlifting team to learn about weight training. I also joined the swimm team that year and got in great shape. Sophmore year I continued powerlifted but then joined wrestling and weighed 150 at 5'10". Junior year I just did powerlifting. I never lifting during the summer breaks however. By senior year I just wanted to go home after school so I quit everything. After my first 2 years of college I somehow got up to around 218 lbs and was in terrible shape. I have a younger brother who was 150 lbs, benched 260, deadlifted 375, and squatted 320, that was my main reason to get back in the gym.

After 4 years of solid strength training and on-off rotater cuff pain and talking with a personal trainer I realized I have been doing it all wrong. I am happy with my strength but found out only doing strength training is dangerous to joints and kind of pointless since I don't compete or plan to. I trained with a trainer and he killed my chest in 15 minutes without any shoulder pain at all. He changed my outlook on fitness. I am looking forward to trying different routines and am ready to see the next level I have been striving for.
I started powerlifting in high school (Saint Xavier) because I was not very athletic. My coach was Larry Traub, multiple National Powerlifting Champion and current Champ over 50, who had a great workout for increasing max rep.
Why I Love It:
It is a great stress reliever in my messed up world. I also feel awesome after a hard lift session.

I finally did something about my high blood pressure and starting taking 5mg of Lisinopril in the morning. It is actually a great drug for working out because it does not affect cardiac output or cause lethargy like a beta-blocker (Metoprolol, Propranolol). In turn my heart is not working as hard to move blood so I have more energy and feel fantastic! But this motivates me to lose body fat and try to get off this little pill. However I am trying to cut caffeine which sucks because of the headaches.
How I Stay Motivated:
Sep 08- After working in the hospital for awhile seeing how a great majority of patients are not healthy and overweight I truely realized how important exercise is.

With school almost over I am lifting great, with more focus and intensity. I listen to Disturbed and that gets me pumped. I quit taking Nano Vapor three months ago and keep getting stronger. I have tweaked my rotater cuff from doing the most I ever have on incline bench so its time to take a week off. Still struggling with fat loss but my diet is much better. NOW IF I ONLY HAD A GIRLFRIEND, lol. I get the biggest kick out of seeing that other nurses actually workout!!

I just joined Urban Active today! I am excited about starting at a real gym. Plus they had a great student rate that I will always have.

Recent measurements show I have lost 3-4 inches overall and gained some muscle in the process. I see my goals becoming reality!!
BB Accomplishments:
No real awards, just personal. I never skip a day or body part. I am proud that I can BB curl 120 lbs 5 times after doing 90 for 10, 100 for 8, and 110 for 6, my goal was 135 for 4 but I am about to get away from strength training for a while. According to this site I could bench 267 and squat 370 since I do 275 for 2 sets of 10, so I feel good about those too.

Goal (Long):
Lose fat and get ripped. I am done with trying to lift heavy for a while. I am going to focus on burning calories and getting a hard workout done in 1 hour and 15-30 mins with fast lifting and cardio
She shows that a strict diet is the single most important thing for your body. Some supplements help, but you are what you eat. I am working on becoming this strict in my diet
No offense, but I think he shows how a "small framed" person can have great strength and an awesome body by keeping their mind right. I also like the fact that he is from Kentucky, which not a healthy state
Now I am trying keep up my heart rate and burn calories while lifting. I have cut all my weight back, decreased rest time to 45 secs-1 min 45 secs, keeping reps in the 10-15 range, doing supersets. I am trying to burn fat while maintaining muscle, I am about as big as I want...
