Got started with the bodybuilding scene in Iraq. Had nothing but time there and I wanted to do something to better myself. Now that I'm back home I want to keep it going.
Why I Love It:
I love the way I feel after a workout. I love the soreness in the next few days after a really great workout. I like noticing the changes, slow as they may be. I love it when other people notice the changes.
How I Stay Motivated:
I remind myself that I am doing this to give myself and my family more years.

I wish that I would have taken pictures a few months ago. I know that there's already been progress, since many people around me have noticed. But I'm still nowhere close to where I want to be.
Started a new program. Upped the daily calories and am going heavy in the gym. I feel bigger, but I've also gained fat. Starting a cutting program in January to get rid of the fat and let the muscle show through.
Wow... this summer has already started out crazy! I thought I might end up with a little more time to myself, but that's not the case. I'm working full-time. Even though my job is more of an on-call thing, I still have to be ready to take a call from 8AM to 5PM. And then I'm taking three...
Look into something called the SMP...you're either Reserve or Nat'l Guard and still in ROTC. That way you might still get coverage...and you can't get deployed, even though you're Reserves/Guard...
Looks like I won't be going before the board until March, if I wait around that long...I got some civie opportunities that I'm waiting to see what happens with them...who knows at this point!!
Really, I have some Soldiers that are based down there. I also get down there from time to time to visit them. We leave in late November. Was your unit a part of the extension that happened?
thats cool that you almost get to come home! how do you feel about active duty? i got released from the national guard to go active i have till oct 29 but i dont think im gunna do it.
Trying for mid-aug, if not then mid-sep. Been away from home for almost a year, half TDY, half deployed. Miss the family. But I'm not complaining, I know others have it worse. Take care.
Trust me, it was a big issue with me in deciding to go officer...I have enough friends in the military to know that not everyone thinks officers with no military experience are effective...
