Background

When I Started: Jul 2008
HOW I STARTED:

I played around with weights on and off ever since my early teens, but never really knew what I was doing, never had any consistency, and never had any real results. Basically, my teen and early 20s consisted of a bunch of partying and abuse of my body. One day I just decided it was time to change and haven't looked back since!

WHY I LOVE IT:

I love bodybuilding because it relieves the stress from that day, gives me confidence, makes me look great, improves my attitude, and makes me feel great all around.

My Motivation Program

I read all the "Transformations of the Week" and Amateurs of the Week" here on Bodybuilding.com as well as the library of articles. This always keeps me excited about getting to the gym to try new things and about the results that I can acheive through consistant effort. I also enjoy working out with my buddies. We all keep each other motivated and make it fun.

New Workout ideas

So I'm getting bored with my workout routine and I've been thinking about what to do to take things to the next level.  I just finished reading an article, in the magazine that was sent to me for free with my bodybuilding.com order, which debated thhe need to perform multiple sets for each exercise.  Basically it stated that the theory behind doing multiple sets dated back to a study done in the 50's that may have been somewhat of a flawed study.  It went on to state that over 10 studies since then have shown that multiple sets of a given eercise had very little benefit to i

Monday:  Chest, Shoulders, Triceps


Tuesday:  Back, Biceps


Wednesday:  Legs


Thursday: Chest and Triceps


Friday or Saturday: Back, Biceps, shoulders


Saturday or Sunday: Legs


I work abs about every other day as I feel motivated too.


For each body part, I prefer to start the first exercise off heavy and compound multiple muscles) with a weight that I can only lift about 8 times on the first set. This focuses on strength. If I get more than 8 reps, I’ll go heavier for the next set. Otherwise
