I've always had an interest in health & fitness even as a youngster. The medical books and encyclopedias mom had around the house heightened my interests only further into the entire human body and how it works.
I've never had the struggle of being an overweight kid, emotional over-eating etc. I've always been a naturally thin person. Maintaining 110-115 lbs. Even through puberty and even from my firstborn child (whopping 9 lbs !) I've always rebound right back.
In my mid-twenties I experienced some life changing events, which the docs ordered me (6)meds to cope and manage. After several mths of bizarre side-effects., and a (20)lb weight gain I threw them all away and decided to handle my problems the way nature intended. Through all natural and uncoventional means. I first dug deep within myself and cleaned up my mind. and then walked into the gym to fix the physical part.
I begin to see the connection with maintaining a healthy mind only enhanced an even healthier body. The problem comes when we become out of balance.
Having lost 29lbs but consistently going up and down with the final ll lbs.Im sick of this game Ive played with the scale in the past 4years.. I know what needs to be done to get it off.., however there's something Im doing wrong without an inability to maintain it. I dont want the number to dictate to me how Im suppose to feel for the day. I want to take it off SMARTER not HARDER this time. I know there's muscle there I can see it..but with the yo-yoing I've accumalated extra stuff on top of it.
Why I Love It:
I love the look of tone, and tight muscles. I think it's extremely sexy on a woman. The natural high and energy, not to mention the attention and sense of accomplishment you gain as well.
How I Stay Motivated:
I am studying to become a certified nutritionist."If I wanna earn a million bucks in this industry, then I must look like a million bucks".
BB Accomplishments:
Not stepping foot in the gym one time and losing 29 lbs in 10 weeks., all at home.
A. STRESS LESS !! I have allowed the transitions of my life during the past four yrs to over-ride my dedication/commitments to keep up the good work which I began. I let all that hard work go right out the window with very little evidence of the former beautiful body I created. I have some unfinished business I'm ready to get back to.
1. I want to be leaner and have sculpted toned muscles. The same muscles which stood out through my shoulders and arms when I wore those summer tank tops. That the women and men standing in line at the market would say "DANNNNNGG !!"
2.MAINTAIN this ideal/natural weight. This is my time and there's nothing and no one or any life circumstances holding me back. I understand now that this has to ONLY be for ME.
3.mindfully eat FOREVER.
Plan:
A.meditation daily & 'Live in the Now'.('For tommorow is promised to no one')
1. Cardio 6x week. Start right where I am now at 40min each session and eventually back up to a complete hour at my fat burning zone.
2. strength train 3 days week. Record my numbers and slowly work my way up the chart. One weight at a time.
3. improve my flexibility and mobility. Never again skip out on proper warm ups and cooldowns. I've paid a small price in this dept. Will take up a yoga/pilates class at the gym.
4. detox twice yrly(around daylights savings time)Self-explanatory here.
What should look for in a gym? What should you avoid?
Look for the traveling time/distance from your work and home.
Is it a lifetime membership which you can transfer or sale, should you not want it later. Or is it a binding contract which you cannot get out of over a certain length of time?
Is the staff friendly, courteous and helpful?
What type of classes do they offer?
The hours of operation.. is it condusive with your hours?
The equipment, does it look antique?
Last, but not least....CHECK OUT THE LOCKER ROOMS AND RESTROOMS !
Does it look sanitary and upkept? Always be mindful of Infection ControlLook for the traveling time/distance from your work and home.

What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Use your resources ! They're all around you. You dont need a gym membership nor a house full of equipment.
ASK, ASK, and keep on asking until you get it right and completely understand. Dont be afraid to ask., or afraid of what "YOU" think others think of you.(ITS ALL IN YOUR HEAD) because you know what ??they dont care.and if you dont care about you and your health then no body else will either.

What type of person at your gym annoys you the most? Why?
I awaken this morning with new ambitions and a renewed strength to make some changes. I was tired of sitting around and watching my husband look at me breaking into pieces and ailing more each day. Something just kept rolling over and over in my head..., stop focusing on what you CANT do and...
Workout Plan for Month (1)
Weeks 1-4
The main goals and focus for me this month is more of an introduction and familiarity. I've avoided going into the weight room for most of my fit years and relied heavily on the isolation machines. I have to concentrate on breathing, proper form,(esp...
Yeah I hear ya. I start my job next week. After 6 months of being unemployed I felt like I was going insane. Im glad you're not deleting your account. Definitely stay as optimistic as possible. Im a huge believer in the power of thought and a positive attitude. :) I've had a couple days where I've woke up and just felt like not working out anymore and just throwing in the towel, but I think this site helps keep me out of "slacker mode".
