I started when my girlfriend starting going to a community college. She had day and night classes so when she went to her classes I started lifting in my basement. After that semester she went to a college about 2 and a 1/2 hours away and I really started hitting the gym hard that way I could stay in shape for her. This was the spring semester of 05 and the rest is history. I was in high school at the time and on the track team so this kept me lifting until I graduated. And since then Ive just been keeping it going and pushing my limits.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling of the pump that you get in muscles as they begin to fill with blood. I also like being able to see my body transform and this keeps me loving it.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by just wanting to make improvements for myself. In my mind I could always be bigger, more cut, or stronger you can call it a bit of the Adonis complex but it keeps me going.
BB Accomplishments:
Ive never really competed in any contests but when I deadlifted and squated 405 was quite an accomplishment.

I would like to gain some mass while trying to keep my body fat percent relatively the same amount.
Goal (Long):
In detail, when I was younger my grandparents called me the "Ethiopian kid" because I was a real skinning little kid but then from like 6th grade through about freshman year I was a chubby kid. Since about 1/2 way through my freshman year I began exercising and trying to watching my diet more. As the years went by I have become more and more involved in lifting and nutrition. So now my goal is to get my body weight somewhere around 205-210lbs and getting my bodyfat down to around 8% or so.

Where do you mainly workout?
Gym
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
I know that if I drive there that I will then complete my workout. And I used to lift at my house but it was too easy to skip it. At gyms theres always a spotter around too.

Why I like this video: Just shows the side of the bodybuilding that most know is there but choose to ignore. Interesting to see why some choose the routes they do.

Why I like this video: WOW!!! Makes you rethink the whole supplement industry!
So I did my body measurements today and it was kinda depressing. A majority of my measurements went down but none of them were more that 1/2 an inch. My body fat did go down so that's a plus. But I realized that the last time I took my measurements was right in the middle of taking...
I hear ya. I think I need more credits than that, but I have to hear what the counselor says. I'm in that same situation, have a good feeling so far, hope it stays true
Yea, I bet it helps a lot with your own diet. I'm trying to add mass right now, any tips from an academic vantage point? hah. Good luck finishing up the year
Yea, I will just be getting into the core of the major next year, so I definitely have some tough classes coming up but I like the subject matter. I considered a nutrition route, may still get a minor in it. How do you like the nutrition courses?
I am starting to see my abs a little. I have 4 vertebrae in my lower back fused, so my core has not seen a lot of exercise in the last 10 years. I finally had enough when I saw some Christmas pictures this past year and decided to kick it in gear. It is pretty exciting to see how fast my fat is shedding. Keep up the good work, Matt!
I am soooo thinking about doing it again but not sure.. I just had soooo many complaints about me. that I was too hard and mean.. they all called me Drill Sgt.. I was really strcit. but I always packed in all my calsses
