When I Started:
How I Started:
I have always been relatively fit and was used to exercise, however, last year college took its toll on me. With so many academic endeavors I found myself overwhelmed and with little time to exercise. I also started eating a lot of junk food and committing the "sin" of late-night snacking. To make things even worse, I was sleep deprived. In only one semester my weight skyrocketed to 162 pounds. I felt tired and out of shape. I knew I had to regain control of my mind and body. I started running again in order to lose weight. Then I started to attend spin classes. I loved the music, the environment and that feeling of accomplishment. I lost some weight, but I knew I wanted to transform my body as well. It was then when I found Hugo Rivera's Body Sculpting Bible for Women and Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet Books. Following the training and sensible eating advises of both authors I lost 32 pounds, 6 % body fat and 4 inches of waist. I went down from size 9 to 4 and I feel amazing and with lots of energy. Now that I learned about the benefits of strength training and clean eating, I don't want to stop.
Why I Love It:
I gives me a sense of accomplishment and it makes me feel and look healthy and energized.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing results...also I kind of miss that "pain" in my muscles when I don't workout.
What is your favorite cardiovascular exercise? Why?
Spinning and Running...they can be very challenging and you can obtain great results...and both activities are really fun and help to get rid of stress!
