How I Started:
I joined the gym as my New Year's Resolution in 2006 but actually stuck with it. After my free session with a gym trainer, I was curious about proper weight training and nutrition. It all was a downward spiral from there...
Why I Love It:
I love it when someone tells me I inspire them to compete, or to train, or to stick to their diet. I love knowing my hard work is not only making me better and healthier, but those around me as well.
How I Stay Motivated:
Competing in figure and trying to break into fitness modeling. It's becoming a more and more popular sport so to do well I just have to want it MORE!

Meeting my goal of 1st Place at the Potomac Cup!

my real before picture potomac cup
this was about a week after i joined the gym almost 2 years ago...today i weigh about the same but i'm down from a size 8 to a 4! i was what you would call "skinny fat"  backstage during the prejudging at the potomac cup, hoping to get some more shots soon

Lately, my goals have become more and more random. I started bodybuilding to prove that I could do it. Now I want to see what else I can do. I want to do a sprint triathalon next summer. I want to try MMA. I want to do a powerlifting meet this December. Above all, I want to find a way to make fitness my CAREER since it is already my LIFE!

deadlifting and squatting -- so easy to wreck your back.

bench -- seen many people end up with bad pec or delt tears from this exercise, stick to dumbbells!

yup that's right 6 weeks

i'm bailing on Lenda Murray.  my body has not been right since I peaked for potomac.  digestion issues, bloating, still suffering the effects of dehydrating.  i just can't put myself through that again.  so i decided not to do the show.  my goal this summer was...

I just ran across your BodySpace and read this "Screw Figure, I want to be an American Gladiator." It made me laugh because my very good friend American Gladiator "Fury" was out here doing a photo shoot with a week or so ago. She is Jamie Reed Kovac who I know for a long time from her doing great in figure. But she loves Gladiator and more! So you are next!
