Decided my senior year in college I needed to get in better shape, especially since I had stopped playing organized sports my sophomore year in college.
Why I Love It:
I love bodybuilding because the rewards you get out of it are directly associated with the efforts that you and you alone put into it. There are no teammates or coaches to fall back on or to blame. If you don't put in the work, you alone are to blame for the results.
How I Stay Motivated:
I compete 2-3 times a year. Standing on stage in your posing trunks keeps you very honest on your diet and drives you to work harder and harder every day in the gym.
BB Accomplishments:
2005 Max Muscle Naturals Novice Lightweight and Novice Overall Champion
2006 Max Muscle Naturals Open Middleweight Champion
2006 NPC National Bodybuilding Championships - 5th Place Lightweights
2006 Musclemania World - 2nd Place Masters (40+)
2007 Muscle Beach International Classic - 1st Place Lightweight and 2nd Place Masters (40+)
2007 NPC Jr. Nationals - 3rd Place Lightweights
2007 NPC Team Universe - 5th Place Lightweights
2008 NPC California State Championships - 1st Place Lightweight & 3rd Place Masters (40+)
2008 Muscle Beach International Classic - 1st Place Lightweight & 1st Place Masters (40+)
2008 NPC Jr. Nationals - 3rd Place Lightweights
2008 Mr. & Ms. Muscle Beach - 1st Place Masters (40+), 1st Place Lightweights, Overall Champion
My goal is to compete at Nationals in 2008 and improve on my 5th place showing from Nationals 2006.
Goal (Long):
Since deciding to compete 2 1/2 yrs ago, my goal has been to transform my body and get better from show to show, year to year. I started this process at a weight of 218 lbs, and now compete as a lightweight in my shows (151-154 lbs). Over Memorial Day weekend, I competed in the Muscle Beach International Classic where I placed 2nd in the Masters Over 40 and 1st in the Lightweight. I was able to get my body fat down to 1% for this show. Two weeks later, I competed in the NPC Jr. Nationals in Chicago and placed 3rd in an excellent lightweight class. One month later, I competed in the NPC Team Universe in New York and placed 5th. I am now in my off season trying to tweak my diet and workouts so that I can hit the stage fuller, drier, and shredded for Nationals in 2008. I will probably do the Max Muscle Naturals in March 2008 to see how my body responds to the adjustments then target Nationals.

Mike, looks like we're both So Cal. Curious how Lipo6x worked for you. I'm headed into pre-contest pretty quick and will probably give it a shot. I've used burners from others over time, including the straight Lipo6 version for a bit last year. Thanks!
Hey Mike, how is the contest prep going? l know its a few weeks away but just wanted to get in early and wish you well. l look forward to seeing your new pics where you are holding the trophy :) Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Happy New Year, training has slowed down..damm.. knee problems :( Hopefully l ll be back in the next few weeks - its quite depressing! l wish you great success in the upcoming comp - where is it being held / what division are you competing in. To be up on stage (regardless of the result) you are already a winner - much respect. JX
