How I Started:
I was always a "skinny" fat person. I have skinny arms and legs, but hold a majority of my fat around my lower abdominal area and was sick of it. I used to be athletic all year round, playing basketball and soccer since the fourth grade. In eighth grade I quit sports, which, in addition to poor nutrition, resulted in weight gain and led to anorexia. I overcame that eventually, and put on weight again, mostly in my midsection.
The problem began again in November of 2006 with my eating habits, and I realized that I was destroying myself. I eventually did research, found out about bodybuilding, and read Tom Venuto's book on fat loss and muscle gain.
It pretty much saved me from self-destruction.
Why I Love It:
The rewards. Not only the physical aspect, but the mental energy and satisfaction it gives. I am in love with morning cardio because it gives my day the biggest energy boost right from the start.
How I Stay Motivated:
Keeping a positive attitude, mainly. Looking at the progress of others on Bodyspace and what amazing goals and incredible physiques people can attain makes me think there is hope for me so long as I am patient. I am definitely determined and hate not getting what I want, especially if it's dependent on me to get it done.
BB Accomplishments:
I gained back what muscle I lost during anorexia and then some. I lowered my body fat percentage thus far. I am not sure of the percent, but my midsection is pretty much gone. I am proud of my new outlook on fitness and more importantly, nutrition.

Goal (Long):
I want to live healthier, longer, and inspire others to do the same. If I could help someone help them self, that'd be amazing. I want to finally be content with myself and proud of my hard work.
I went on a bike ride this morning and I have to say, I'm really enjoying this summer (or technically spring) weather. Yeah, it's been a little rainy here and there, but the mornings are amazing. Makes it worth getting up early. The only thing that bothered me besides my MP3 player being broken...
