Refeeds & cheat meals : The tale of a hormone and a mouse

One of the most misunderstood concepts in regards to dieting  in my opinion is the difference betweeen refeeds and cheat meals. Often people assign the role of refeed ----an increase in metabolism --- during calorie restricted diet to  cheat meal, when cheat meals do not boost metabolism.   Cheat meal(s) are exactly what the name says a single meal eaten in the course of a day.  Refeeds  are a series of meals eaten over the course of extactly 5 hours to 3 days (depending on the  4 points listed next)  to boost metabolism by first raising leptins.  The

guest Hi Madtitan, I enjoy your helpful hints and blogs, keep it up, help us a lot. I have been folowing Kris Gethin's 12 weel program and am just finishing it. Went from 219lb to 197.4lb, but I am not happy with my results, I am still not lean enough, can't see my abs at all, and not sure what to do next. Right now I am carb loading for 3 days (on day 1 now). I am 6.5", 197.4lb and hit the gym Mon to Fri, any advice on diet Apr 26, 2012 3:23pm

guest Hey, i'm thinking about mixing creatine mono, protein and waxy maize (all ON supplements) together for one big post workout shake. Is this a good idea? or should i take them at separate times? Also how much water should i be mixing them with? they all say 6-8 oz, should i use around 20oz of water or just 6-8? Apr 8, 2012 8:19am

PeTeR2424 Thanks bud, ya took a little while off from working out. I injured my shoulder benching and think it was my rotator cuff. I'v been doing many shoulder workouts for it and now im back to lifting again. Shoulder is feeling much better. How is everything with you? Feb 22, 2012 4:28pm
