When I Started:
Mar, 2006
How I Started:
I've been fat, heavy or how ever you want to say it for all of my life. My eyes were opened when my dad had a stroke, he had a heart attack when my daughter turned 2yrs. He is not a heavy man, but I thought to myself 'I dont want this to happen to me'. So I started to jog, purchased a bowflex (unsure if this was the smart thing to do) and have since lost about 18 lbs (was 230lbs, now 212lbs). Looking to loose more, about 40 lbs to be exact.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel better, takes away stress, I feel focused all day and I love to see my kids try to do push ups and crunches.
How I Stay Motivated:
I see my old pic and push myself to look better than that.
Gain strength all around and hope to compete in a powerlifting meet.
Goal (Long):
After some deliberation, I've decided that it is in my best interest to get into powerlifting. I'm not the type to get into bb. I don't have the genetics for bb and no funds for all the extra supp's needed. Just watching vid's of pl meets and checking out the strength that those dudes work so hard and so long for is so cool. Mad props to them. I've always been a big dude and have had trouble loosing weight all of my life. So insted of working against anything, I'm gonna start to work with it. Everything so far is looking good except for my bench which I have seem to hit a plateu on. A goal for my bench is to reach at least 300lb's by August '07, Deadlift will come naturally and hope to be at 400lb's by August '07 and Squats are coming along great and hope to hit the 400 mark by August as well. These are just short term goals. Long term goals, to watch the numbers rise one plate at a time.
