Thanks for the comment. I am hoping that by this time next year I will be showing you a flat tummy and ready to compete in my first Women's Powerlifting contest. I have a long way to go, but it will be worth it.

Thanks. I am hoping I can start to do some powerlifting competitions this year. Of course, you have to start as a beginner and build up to the heavier weights. I hope I can do that fairly soon.

Welcome to this site. I like using this site to be able to discuss progress and problems with trying to keep exercising and be healthy. I use to have back pain simular to yours, my doctor told me that diet sodas and caffiene make it worse. I have noticed that when I drink a diet soda or have too much caffiene, it comes back. Good luck with your progress.

I almost did not go into as much detail about my "issues", but I am sure other people feel the same way, even if it is as little as 5 or 10 pounds, or more.

Yes. However, traveling is making it harder to eat right. What I have started is choosing hotels with a full kitchen in the room and changing my gym membership to a gym that has locations where I travel. Hotel gyms are gross.

Thanks for adding me as a friend. I have been traveling a lot with my job and haven't been able to do much on getting new photos. Mostly, I have been working on cleaning up my diet. Good Luck with your goals. Melinda

I haven't been kickboxing in the last 2 years. Since I travel, I have been doing mostly cardio and weights. If you are wanting to learn about kickboxing, I recommend you sign up for Krav Maga. You can contact Jeff Levin or Wayne Miller at the Penn Field/Congress Location. I think they are the best teachers for this type of sport. My nephew is your age. He lives in Arkansas and I am trying to get him to try it, but he is tall and loves basketball. Good Luck.

Thanks for the comment. Good luck with your goals. I liked your comment about not wanting to be a "fat ass." I like this website because that is what all of us are trying to do. It is amazing how many lazy people think it is too much trouble to take care of yourself and exercise.

I liked the comment you left for Maddi. For us women, that is why we go shopping for makeup, clothes, etc. Oh, and food.

I have been out on the road with my job and haven't been able to keep up with everyone lately. Your new photos look nice. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the comment. I think I am going through a mid life crises where I have changed my values. I have been a desk person for a little over 20 years and am looking to do something new like change careers to the health and fitness area. It is amazing how many of us Babyboomers never learned how to take care of our health. Even though I am on the end of the Babyboom generation, I am feeling the effects of age. Thanks again, Melinda
