When I Started:
Apr, 2005
How I Started:
I started working out about 3years ago. I had Gastric Bypass Surgery 4yrs ago and it has changed my life 100%. It is very hard to keep everything balanced between eating, working out and life in general. If you have had this type of surgery, you can understand.
One day I went over to my aunts house and she had Gastric also. She hasn't been taking care of herself. I noticed she had put back on 20lbs. She had Gastric 6yrs ago. She has forgotten how to use the tool she had been given. As we were talking, she told me "YOU WILL PUT THE WEIGHT BACK ON".
Her words bothered me. I had thought about them for about a month. Freaking out in the mean time. All I kept thinking was, I don't want to put back on the weight.
I thought about what was she doing that was different then I was. She eats very poorly and doesn't work out. I eat very cautiously and work out at least 4 days a week. Then I was thinking WHY? Why is she not using the tool correctly? Well it is because she has forgotten how. She doesn't know what to do in the Gym. She forgot how to eat because she has returned to her bad habits. In my opinion, when you have Gastric those bad habits have to be watched.
So, one day, in the middle of the night, I woke up and decided I was going to become a Personal Fitness Trainer. My focus would be Gastric Patients.
Friends that have worked out with me in the past said they enjoyed working out when I went along with them.
I have been training for about 3yrs now!
Why I Love It:
I LOVE IT! I love the feeling when someone accomplishes even the loss of a couple pounds and puts on muscle they never knew they had.
How I Stay Motivated:
OH BOY! it is soo hard to stay motivated when life gets in the way. Stress, Work and Family!! AHHH!!
I tell myself I don't want to put on weight. I make myself go and at least do some Cardio. Once I get started, I get my workout in.
BB Accomplishments:
Well I have reduced my body fat. My BMI 4yrs ago was 42 and it is now 22. I have lost over 100lbs.
Now I am working on increasing more of my muscle.
