How I Started:
I've always been active in dancing and cheerleading, but I never took working out seriously until I saw my first fitness contest- I was absolutely awestruck by how incredible everyone looked, it was definitely an eye-opening experience for me. It inspired me enough to really start working out and even to try lifting some weights.
Why I Love It:
I love working out, I have so much more energy now and I'm more confident, I feel high all the time. It's still so amazing to me to see my body filling out and tightening up, I don't think I have ever felt or looked so good in my life. And it's made a difference in my day to day life outside the gym too, I only recently realized how much stronger I am, that is an awesome feeling!
How I Stay Motivated:
I apply the same dedication I do for dancing to working out, I always try to keep learning and growing. I prefer to workout with a partner who shares similar goals. She really challenges me to do more and motivates me to push myself harder than I'd push myself.

10 unassisted pull-ups!!!

I want to develop a beautiful body that will look good in anything, anywhere, anytime. I definitely want to get stronger and add some muscle, but as a professional dancer I need to be careful about not adding too much size. I want to focus on developing long lean muscles that hopefully give me that strong and sleek look. It's very difficult for me to put on any kind of weight, building muscle continues to be a big time challenge. My short term goal is to train hard, build a little more muscle and increase my definition so I can be ready to compete in the summer of 2010. Now that I can do a unassisted regular pull up and dip, my next lifting goals are to bench my 1x bodyweight and squat/deadlift 1.5x my bodyweight for reps and maybe work on wide grip pullups too.
I find Crystal inspirational for a lot of reasons but mostly it's how she shows me everyday what you can achieve if you are willing to work hard and dedicate yourself to a lifetime of fitness. And also because of all those gosh darn pull-ups!
Izzie inspires me because she is proof of what I can accomplish if I can stay dedicated and focused on my workouts/diet. And because she's really nice too!

you can find all kinds of stuff on 100 rep sets. i did not invent it i just use it with my other routines in my training. you can do sets of 25 and work up to 50 than 75 than 100. you can use as little of weight as you like to as much as you can handle. for me the 2 1/2 pound plates work sometimes and 5 and 10 pounds work others. it's all up to you. let me know how you do and if you try it. train hard, play harder. jeff
