There was a local bodybuilder, Johnny Kelly, who lived down the street. He was a friend of my fathers and spent the time to help me get started. He had a reasonable gym room in his basement and the walls were covered with his trophies. I wasn't as interested in Bodybuilding as building strength for Football and skiing.
Why I Love It:
Worked out diligently 5 days a week until 7 years ago when I rode my mountain bike off a cliff and onto the beach. I fractured my wrist and radial head as well as crushed the elbow joint itself. I have just been able to lift again since late 2005 but with some severe restrictions on the weight and the stress I can put on my elbow. DBells are now limited to a max of about 35 pounds this limits what I can do. Other lifts and presses are not effected as much but i cannot max out on anything that stresses my elbow. I also did not get some medical problems, low Test and Thyroid, in check until mid June 2006 and that set me back 6 months. I'm hoping that I've cleared the hill and am now headed in the right direction.
How I Stay Motivated:
My family keeps me motivated. I'm 58 years older than my son and 28 years older than my wife and I don't want to drop dead just yet.

This the pic I have on my wall next. It was taken after 5 years bulking on Twrinkies and cookie and then found out that a one pack was no longer in vogue. I keep it there to remind me where I could end up agan somewhere around 215-220#

Goal (Long):
Gain back some of the mass I lost over the last few years by the end of 2008 and cut down to 10%BF in the process. I'm happy with my progress so far but I'd love to lose the love handles and finally see some abs.
What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Hmm.. Wouldn't mind having Taya Young she's sexy but my wife would give me an instant sex change operation and I'd be Susie Sorcrotch. Why I like this video: We went to this concert on our honeymoon in Chiang Mai Thailand. P bird, Thailand's answer to Elvis, performed for an hour 2 hours straight. Jintara Poonlarp, the girl in this song, is so close to my wife in her looks and actions it scary. Only big difference is my wife has long hair.

Why I like this video: I have the DVD of the concert and when we had to separate for 10 months when I came back to Canada I would watch Jintara Poonlarp and think about Luk as they look so much alike.

Hey marty! How are you doing? Hope everything is going OK with you. I've been doing great. I'm leaning out nicely and preparing myself for the beach on Spring break. Have a good one.
I appreciate it. We (my kids and I) would sit and watch TV anplay PS2 and eat pizza and call that being together. Now I take them to the park and am teaching them to play football (I coach football) and baseball and ride a bike. So it is working.
Marty, I appreciate your kudos! It's a slower process than I thought but I am learning how to train for my body type and that is making a big difference.
