I've always trained, but took it to another level in May 2007. I now consider myself a non-competitive bodybuilder.
Why I Love It:
I consider myself a gym junkie. The feeling of empowerment when training, not to mention the results, can be quite intoxicating, emotionally and physically. It affects all aspects of my life and I believe enables me to change the lives of others who feel they are out of choices due to age or other limiting factors.
How I Stay Motivated:
I typically schedule a photoshoot or special event and it encourages accountability.
BB Accomplishments:
I placed second in my first Figure Competition at the age of 49....and competed in my first NPC Figure Competition three weeks later.
I call it "walk the bar." After completing every set, I finish with reverse grip ez curls and reduce the weight as I do sets of 10 at a rapid pace until the bicep is fried!

What tricep workout has worked best for you?
No doubt, skulls are the best! When done properly and with heavy weight and a slow pace, they seem to hit the triceps just right....then of course, I finish with dips to failure.

What calf workout has worked best for you?
I like seated calf raises best....but done with extremely heavy weight at a slow pace, with a little "tweak" at the top of each rep.
I'm an avid reader of muscle&fitness HERS. I saw you in their latest issue and your story is really inspiring! I'm 22...wondering if this healthy lifestyle can really last throughout a lifetime: pregnancies, etc. I don't want to just be fit and muscular for a year or two! You give me hope! If you have any advice let me know!
Yeah, wow! Look great, lots of hard work there. Congrats for being strong and fighting the good fight, your effort shows.
