I've worked out off and on all my life but only in the past couple of years have I become serious about weight training as the best form of overall exercise.
What happened was that in June 2006 I tried on my summer clothes and realized I'd gone up in size again. I got disgusted so the next day I went to my gym (one I rarely attended but always kept a membership to) and signed up for a trainer to kick me in the butt and get me on track. I was lucky enough to hire a trainer who put me on a four day bodybuilding split and taught me to train heavy, to failure, with intensity.
I was amazed at how fast my body responded to this type of training, and I became hooked.
Why I Love It:
It feels great to keep challenging yourself and see the resulting changes.
How I Stay Motivated:
From past experience, I know if I stop working out, the weight and fat will pile back on. That's enough motivation for now!
BB Accomplishments:
Learning how to lift with an Olympic bar.
First time squatting my bodyweight.
First time using the 45's for squats and deads.
Graduating from assisted chins to bodyweight chins.

This one was taken a couple of years before I started out. I put on a few more pounds after that, but I'm all covered up in most of them after this one.
Been eating pretty clean for about 3.5 months now. Still training regularly.
My goal is to continue to build lean muscle and cut my body fat down to at least 20-22% and keep it there. In order to reach this goal, I need to consistenly clean up my diet and learn about good nutrition.
yes! Lean Bodies Consulting, the guy's name is Erik... It is going to be rough, but I can do it. I am overseas so my only option was an online trainer :-)
I just read your comment on my "I am a Cheater" blog...are you using LBC also? Yes, there was no dairy, fruit, sugar, nothing in my planned diet!!! AAGGGHH. I have been drinking my coffee with splenda and sometimes I have tea with splenda, I hope this doesn't ruin my diet! Yesterday I was STARVING and ate a banana...oops
thanks so much sue for taking the time to rate my pics and for your words of encouragment. as you noticed i do like b&w pics. some folks don't like b&w but i think without the distraction of color the eye can better take in the subject - muscle building - more clearly. and besides that i don't have a good tan - too white - LOL. thanks again. - jeff
