"I'd like to lose another 40 pounds and get down to 180. In the process I'd like to transform my body from the blob it is into something with more attractive shapes."
I knew when I hit 30 I'd do something about my weight. I hit 32 and still nothing. My wife finally stopped bugging me and I made a decision for myself to do something about the scale going up and the clothes getting tighter.
Why I Love It:
I usually hate the first 10 minutes of each workout, then it changes. The euphoria of knowing I'm doing something that I physically was unable to do a year ago is awesome! I also like that I can be a little less strict w/ my diet if I'm sticking to my regime.
How I Stay Motivated:
By checking the scale daily and counting calories. When the scale goes up, it's an automatic reaction to bring the calories down (they usually need to go down during those times anyways). Also, I love the compliments paid by my bride.
BB Accomplishments:
Seeing definition in my arms and legs. Losing 65 pounds. Running in three half marathons so far this year.

How do we let ourselves go to this? I think I was around 270-280+ here.
Compared to the shots of my back on 2/5/2002, this is MUCH better, still got more to go, though.
I'd like to lose another 40 pounds and get down to 180. In the process I'd like to transform my body from the blob it is into something with more attractive shapes.
Goal (Long):
It's taken me 7-8 years to balloon out to 280. I'd like to get back to my pre-bootcamp weight of 180-185. I lost around 65 pounds, but my schedule has prevented me from hitting the gym the last few months on a regular basis so I've put about 10 back on. I'm around 225 right now.
I've watched my BMI go from 36 to 29, my body fat from around 35% (or higher) to 24%, and my shirt size from pushing XXXL to an M or L depending on the brand. I love that I don't have to pay extra for clothes anymore because I was so big.
While I wouldn't mind being a muscle-head like some folks, I would prefer to stay a little more normal looking. I'd like to look trim and fit without a belly or man boobs.
My wife is a great motivator and coach, although we both have a sweet tooth.
It's been awhile since I posted. My journey, thus far, has lasted longer than a year now. In that time I lost 70 lbs, and put back on about 20. I'm ecstatic about a net loss of 50, but not done yet. The holidays were a much bigger road bump for me this year than they were last year (06). My...

I know what you mean concerning frustration, we are a fast food nation and we want everything right now. Just like it takes nine months for those babies to grow it takes time for anything worth while to be birthed. What I am saying is for me as well as you! Good luck with your journey.

Thanks for the support. Your correct about Yesterday being gone and tomorrow is still to come. I try to look to the future but sometimes yesterday is easier to remember. Good luck with your goals.

Your progress is amazing! Congratulations. From your profile, it looks like we have about the same frame. I got up to 270 - and am also trying to get to about 180. Best of luck!
