When I Started:
Aug, 2008
How I Started:
I always stayed fit in school being part of the cross country team and swimming in the summer. When I left school and started work full time my weight began to creep up. After having my 6th Knee operation since age 14 in October of 2006 I just didn't bounce back. I realized if I didn't start to put the time and effort into the gym I would be heading towards a lifetime of obesity and joint problems.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling of accomplishment I get when I walk out of the gym after a good lift or when I've been running for miles and realize I could keep going it is what I strive for. The feeling of using my body to the best of its ability.
How I Stay Motivated:
I L-O-V-E oxygen magazine and I know it sounds cliche but when I'm feeling lazy or am in the mood to be weak with my diet I know there is another girl out there somewhere who is turning down Saturday night drinks with friends to go to the gym or who is putting in those extra miles on a run and it makes me want to try harder.
BB Accomplishments:
None so far but maybe someday. I am planning on running my 2nd 4 mile road race this summer.
This is me around Christmas time last year. I saw this picture and my cheeks looked so chubby I couldn't deny I was gaining weight any longer so it kind of kicked things off.
This is my most recent pic I am a work in progress but I am gaining ground now.
I saw Jamie on the cover of oxygen magainze. I had never seen anyone who had such a strong yet feminine looking physique. She was the first woman who really inspired me to want to mold my body using weights. Thanks Jamie!
She is everything I aspire to be as an athlete and military wife. She is an amazing example of how you can use stress and adversity to become a better person and of how hard work and dedication can help you become the person you want to be. In short, she rocks.
Well after giving Push/pull what I thought was a fair try I have come to the decision that it is definitely not for me. My weight loss has plateaued off recently so I am thinking this might not be the best time to try and gain mass. I am going to switch to a cardio heavy routine with total...
Checking in...how does the light cardio feel? Got my hubby back home. So glad to have him home...but trying to get used to a different schedule...he's messing with mine...LOL. It's all good tho
How are you doing? Feeling better? I'm emotionally well, but physically hurting. Strained everthing in my right leg...so just gonna give everythin a few days to calm down. Hubby is in Kyrgyzstan, so he's on his way back my way. Hoping by Thanksgiving, but unsure at this time. Take care of yourself ~Stacy
Things are going well girl. Hubby tells me he may be in the US by Thanksgiving. Got my race this weekend. Going up to see my family. Helps with the distraction. Hope you are hanging in there. Getting your ducks in a row?
Thanks so much for the inspiring thing. It means a lot...you have no idea how it lifted me up to read what you wrote. Being a military wife...is the hardest thing in the world. No one who isn't one can truely understand. You will make it. There are so many who have done it before us...:) Keep focused on yourself and being the best you can be for YOU and your husband!
Darn...sorry to hear your hubby is gonna be heading to Afghanistan also. Do you know for how long? What does he do in the service? Well keep your chin up. Has he gone over before? For me, this deployment has actually gone by pretty fast. Keeping busy and focusing on myself, my body and my kids...and sanity ;)
hello beautiful girl, thanks for add me, i hope we can be good friends, you are really very nice and beautiful, i really want to be your friend, keep in touch, please!!! have a great evening!!
Hey Girl...new progress pics are awesome. You are looking good...what a great transformation. Still running here...good days and bad days. Hubby may be coming home a month early...so I better get my butt moving. LOL
Oh I did the retail therapy...for my kids though, but still felt good to spend money. Run was much better today. How's the diet going for you? I'm sick of eggs, tuna and cottage cheese...LOL
