What leanbodyusa is up to

leanbodyusa created a new BodyBlog entry "New assistance from old science".

On the market these days are a thousand and one products that are going to help me get the body that will turn heads. Several hundred, maybe even thousands of dollars later, I finally figure out that none of this stuff has the magic in it that I thought it would. That's because there's no magic in those machines or in those supplements, or whatever the product is, if the magic isn't in me first. It's taken a good long time to get to the point where I'm not putting my faith in... Go to BodyBlog

It's taken a good long time to get to the point where I'm not putting my faith in these products any longer and understand it really does have to begin with me

Todays WO Tracker & progress report

Posted in Other  :  Aug 23, 2011 1:38pm

Though it may be taking time, or though it may be that I am just slow, I have had a realization about how I need to change my thinking. And it's all about what's going on in your head when you have a goal of leaning out and building up. My strategy up to now has been, I would just build more muscle than I had fat. I know, that's stupid. I get that now. If I want to pop the muscle I possess I need to get rid of the fat as much or more than I need to build the muscle. The muscle is already there! I can just tell. I see it at times and think hey that's rockin' muscle showing through.

Into 5 X 5

Posted in Training  :  Aug 22, 2011 12:02pm

Sun. 08/21 started to work with a 5 X 5 program I read about on Bodybuilding.com. Though I've known about this, I never launched into it until now. Yesterdays workout was on shoulders. Not knowing what to expect, I started with lighter kettlebells including the 10 pounders. By the 3rd set I was already needing to lower my reps. I was working it like a circuit program and it was getting tough. I ended up making it a 4X5 workout because my muscles were exhausted. Mon. I went at it again only for the chest this time. I came up in my weight a bit still shooting for lots of reps. Same story. By

doctordude
doctordude I've lowered my training frequency, and for me, it's harder to stay out of the gym. I'd prefer to go daily, but I'm not able to recover in between workouts at that frequency. Feb 24, 2012 8:10pm
getfittoday
getfittoday Thanks for checking in brother! No workout today. Today is one of my two off days. I had a great workout last night though! Feb 23, 2012 8:58am
doctordude
doctordude Yes, peanut butter tastes better than ice cream when you're on a low-carb diet. Sugar is typically added, so look for one taht isn't. "Natural" peanut butter tends to have more sugar added than other kinds, too. Almonds are a better choice. Feb 23, 2012 7:19am
doctordude
doctordude Agreed, I refer to ageing as the accumulation of stresses for that reason. It's not ageing itself that slows us down, it's all the bad decisions or inactivity or poor diet that has piled up until we start to notice, and I've seen it, so I have some idea what to avoid. I'm active and I eat clean foods that keep me feeling well for longer than just the time I taste them. Feb 23, 2012 7:07am

doctordude I'm doing low carb and jumping rope daily. I've found that the hardest time is in the mornings, but a spoonful of peanut butter before bed keeps me from craving something sweet in the morning. Feb 20, 2012 6:47am
