At 57 my weight got up to 260. General health was in poor condition. Needed to make changes.

New assistance from old science
Posted in Training : May 21, 2012 12:32pmOn the market these days are a thousand and one products that are going to help me get the body that will turn heads. Several hundred, maybe even thousands of dollars later, I finally figure out that none of this stuff has the magic in it that I thought it would. That's because there's no magic in those machines or in those supplements, or whatever the product is, if the magic isn't in me first.
It's taken a good long time to get to the point where I'm not putting my faith in these products any longer and understand it really does have to begin with me

Posted in Other : Aug 23, 2011 1:38pmThough it may be taking time, or though it may be that I am just slow, I have had a realization about how I need to change my thinking. And it's all about what's going on in your head when you have a goal of leaning out and building up. My strategy up to now has been, I would just build more muscle than I had fat. I know, that's stupid. I get that now. If I want to pop the muscle I possess I need to get rid of the fat as much or more than I need to build the muscle. The muscle is already there! I can just tell. I see it at times and think hey that's rockin' muscle showing through.

Posted in Training : Aug 22, 2011 12:02pmSun. 08/21 started to work with a 5 X 5 program I read about on Bodybuilding.com. Though I've known about this, I never launched into it until now. Yesterdays workout was on shoulders. Not knowing what to expect, I started with lighter kettlebells including the 10 pounders. By the 3rd set I was already needing to lower my reps. I was working it like a circuit program and it was getting tough. I ended up making it a 4X5 workout because my muscles were exhausted. Mon. I went at it again only for the chest this time. I came up in my weight a bit still shooting for lots of reps. Same story. By
