When I Started:
Sep, 2006
How I Started:
I was extremely overweight and began using a gym for the first time in my life in September of 2006 to try to lose the weight. I worked with a personal trainer and began weight lifting. I lost 90 pounds and got hooked on the sport of bodybuilding and have lofty dreams of being on stage one day myself.
Why I Love It:
I love the challenge, the pain, the competition and watching my body change.
How I Stay Motivated:
Watching others at my gym and in the sport of bodybuilding amps me up quite a bit. They are inspiring and it makes me want to make significant gains like that too. I also enjoy lifting so much, that motivation is rarely a problem.
BB Accomplishments:
Well, none yet. I am only a year into it. I guess the things I am most proud of so far are the huge increases in what I can lift since I started...all body parts. I love to go heavy.

This is rock bottom. The photo was taken 2 weeks before starting in with a personal trainer (September 18, 2006) and before I cared or knew anything about the world of bodybuilding. Unbelievable for me to even look at now.
My muscular definition isn't there yet, but you can see the sheer amount of body fat that is gone. I started at 225 and weighed 135 in this photo. Getting there!!
I want to shed more my body fat and and see more definition!
Goal (Long):
I never thought it would be possible for me to have the lean and cut body that female bodybuilders/figure competitors achieve. That is just starting to change. So, my goals not only include doing the rigorous work of heavy lifting, proper training & diet, but they also include a change of mind set. I want a stronger self confidence in my body image and the unending belief that I can do anything I set out to do.
I have a TON of work to do and am starting way behind the gate. I am coming from the most severe "out of shape" a person can be. That just means I want it more and I have more to prove. I am putting in all the chips and giving it all I have. By summer of 2008, I want to be in a bikini...and actually looking good in it!!!
Thanks! I eat clean most of the time; small meals every few hours which consist of lean protein and complex carbs, 2 of which are usually in the form of a post-workout and pre-bedtime shake. My routines are varied, but generally are split routines in which I either train total body every other day or a different set of muscles every day. I only like my cardio (3-4 xs/wk.) in the form of dance or swimming; don't like to be stuck on a machine, but if I have to I prefer the stairmaster.
I have gotten the muscle mass I wanted not too much but I finally got it! I would like to get ripped for the beach season and get some ripped abs! Good luck and stay in touch!
I am sure that you will do well in March. You will have to let me know how things are going with your training. The only thing I dont like is the strict dieting. My friends say that I get grumpy. LOL
