I started lifting in 8th grade, believe it or not. Even at a young age I knew I loved something about lifting and the way it made me feel - plus it allowed me to 1-up the boys haha. Throughout high school I ran cross country and track, so during the season I didn't have much time to hit the gym. I would on occassion, but nothing that really boosted my mass. After 4 years of varsity CC and track, I got to college and decided I wanted to seriously start lifting. By spring of my freshman year I had gained 14lbs of muscle! I began to realize that I really enjoyed lifting, and when I heard about an amateur bodybuilding competition on my campus in the spring, I figured I'd take a stab at it. After that I tried a Figure show, and now I'd say I'm officially hooked.
Why I Love It:
I'm a firm believer in doing things that people don't expect. The business is gaining more women gradually, but it's still something out of the ordinary. Lifting and exercise is the only time I get to myself, and it really helps me think through my problems too.
How I Stay Motivated:
I love seeing the results I get, and I never regret doing a workout. I know if I go into the gym thinking I don't want to lift, I always tell myself "I know I'll feel great after this!"

isu was my 1st show.doing it again,going to do northern kentucky because thats the only other one i even know about.scared ****less about doin a big show though
Nice pics from a few weeks back! I'm in the same boat as you.....tryin' to put on some mass this fall/ winter then come back lookin' good in the spring. My goal is to get up to around 240 lbs. around February, then lean it down to 220 lbs. or so....how 'bout you

My best friend was telling me about ROTC training for the Marines which he wants to do in a few years and it made me think of you. After you both get your traning I'll make sure to set up a fight between you and him-LOL. Anything new with you?
By "hand to hand" combat do you really mean "fist to jaw"?!-lol. If so, looks like I better stop mouthin' off ;) I know you probably already told me this but when do you begin and finish ROTC for the summer?
ya wanna know somethin' funny-the tinier i get the stronger i get in bench.lol. Before ya know it, i'll be half your size and able to squash you with my bear hands...naw, you're too cool :)...haha
Well, this is my 5th day on my diet and so far in the morning I've been weighing under 140. I've got so much more of a push now that the weather is coming where I'm going to be exspected to show what I got-lol. R u totally outsizing me now? ;)
Ahhh, finally done with school for the summer! I think I'm going to end up with 3A's and 2B's so I'm pretty happy. Oh, did I tell you I might transfer to IU to get my bachelors, but unfortunately it wouldn't be at the campus you're at...good for you coz I'd always be buggin' ya-LOL
