When I Started:
Feb, 2008
How I Started:
I was in great shape in the mid-eighties when I taught aerobics at Bally's..it was called Jack La Lanne when I first started! My family eventually opened up a Spa Lady which I managed for a few years before returning to college. Through the years, I let my passion for fitness slide...and two pregnancies later...I was pretty flabby. I recently became a lacto-ovo vegetarian and figured it was the perfect time to get in shape. I want to see how far I can take this. I'd love to drop down to...and maintain a muscular physique.
Why I Love It:
So far, it's helped with my lower back. I had an injury from Tae Kwon Do that acts up all the time. Now I can stand for a few hours and feel no pain in my back. I also love the way my muscles feel after a hard workout, not to mention all the increased energy I feel. The lifestyle is also great. Of all my endeavors...and I have a lot of them...I've found the bodybuilding community to be the most friendly, authentic and supportive. I'm so glad to be part of it.
How I Stay Motivated:
I'm very spiritual and I find living in the moment is a great strength in that it enables me to realize my insecurities are insignificant. I want to build a strong body because I want to see how strong my will is. Can I do this without allowing vanity to get in the way. Yes. This is about personal growth and determination...the act of doing. I look at all the success stories of women in my age bracket, and I've discovered bodybuilding is more than being vain about one's appearance. It's making the conscious effort to treat the body with respect and awe. Oh yeah...I also don't want to wear moo moos when I'm old and gray! LOL.

Yes, those are leg warmers I'm wearing. It was the eighties. This is way back in the day when I was as a fitness instructor at Jack La Lanne. I was around eighteen when this shot was taken. This was when I was at my thinnest.
Here I am at 57 kilos (125 lbs). This is at the end of my bulk.
Eventually I think I'd like to compete. That would be the next logical progression of my personality type...self-competitive. I always need to take myself to the next level!
I woke up this morning feeling thinner. I stepped on the scale and was down one kilo. Yes, something like eliminating gluten really makes a difference.
Regarding my diet, I eat fewer calories during the day and consume most of them at night. I have to do this or by the time 9pm...
the blogs are messed up. I was having trouble submitting it the other day. Hows your training, how are you feeling?? Besides hating mondays like everyone else?
