When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
Finally got tired of being so overweight. 1/19/2009 I started cardio (elliptical), within 2 weeks I cranked up to 2 hours/day on it. Currently do morning 40 min LISS, afternoon ~22 min HIIT then ~38 min LISS, weight lift 4x/week, 180 situps 2x/week. I have a Hoist V6 and elliptical at home to work out with.
Why I Love It:
I'm liking the results. As of 10/24/2009 I'm down 72 lbs. (since 1/19/2009). I can really see the changes in my face, legs, arms and abdomen. More recently in the chest, shoulders, rib area.
How I Stay Motivated:
Still waaay to much fat on the torso! Seeing the progress keeps me motivated [that and having an obsessive personality... ;) ].
BB Accomplishments:
Being able to jog for 2.75 hrs...and still feel fully energized. Losing 72 lbs. More than doubling the weights I started lifting at.

kulzorchanged Weight from 182 lbs. to 183 lbs., a 1 lb. gain in 10 days
This pic was taken at X-Mas 2007 at work. I was about 250 lbs. I just had to post it here as self-motivation, and nice front-face pic to compare back against.
Lost 74 lbs. as of 11/12/09. Current goal: Get down to 180 lbs.
Goal (Long):
Goal 1 - planned by 6/19/2009: Get under 20% body fat. Past this as of Oct. 2009.
Goal 2 - roughly around 6/19/2009: Get under 206 lbs. (Would be a 50 lb. drop in weight since 1/19/2009.) Completed...
Ultimate Goal: get under 200 lbs. and stay there. Anything below that is a dream at this point - I'll work toward the 50 lb. drop first. This is my OLD ultimate goal!!
Goal 3 (10/26/2009): Get a 4-pack of abs. Not sure what weight I need to get to to obtain this, guessing 170 or 165.
When you can reform a body at an age when most people claim it can't be done, and not just into a healthy body, but truly an impressive build, it does inspire others. Thank you for posting your info and sharing with others!
Got back from the parents yesterday (Friday) and immediately put in a 1.5 hour mixed cardio, chin-ups, and push-ups workout. It went well, I kept up a good pace while jogging, and got back into reading/editing/tweaking my first novel another time. I had an ok breakfast before that with...
Yeah i'm still goin at it. Sorry for the delayed reply. I just cut down on the carb consumption and only did cardio from 276-235. I've been doing some casual lifting every now and then, nothing major or serious yet. I'd like to get my love handles melted away before I get really into it. How about you man?
You're welcome. Your transformation is fun and inspiring to watch. You must work your f-cking ass off and it shows. Results, results, results. ???? Keep it up. P.S. Nice peak on the biceps. Good work.
I know what you mean. It really feels like I haven't made much progress... it slows down. But this is for life now. As long as we do it, we will see the changes. :)
I just blogged about it today. Usually my Omron is almost dead-on to what the calipers say, which is why I was so surprised that it was lower. I have the Omron-306. :-)
Thanks for the comment Kev. I had my bodyfat tested at the gym this morning and it is lower than I expected (lower than my handheld bodyfat tester tells me)... so I am happy!
Kev your progress is incredible. Just keep your progress pic with you all the time. Losing slow is sometimes good in that the skin adjusts better. I can see in your pic that that is the case. You can really see a nice core and upper body. After losing 74 pounds you should be proud of that. We all want it to go fast but it is a journey to a rock hard body.
Very awesome on the 33's! And thanks again. I am so amazed on your and my progress in 2009. I still feel I have road to go, but really paying attention to look back. WOW! We've tore it up and won a great deal of the battles!
Thanks! I'm betting you could get in those 33's. Nothing better than getting to celebrate tangible results in this war of the body fat! With shirts most brands I wear a large now instead of stretched out 2xl. Some brands though you're right are off.
The 5K on Thanksgiving is outdoor. Ran/walked a small one 11/14. It was not too bad. I had been training before the eliptical on the couch to 5K program outdoor and indoor but had problems with the knees. Decided to build the quads and do elipitcal till pain went away. Mission accomplished so now time to try the running program again. Turkey trot in Dallas is HUGE...looking forward to it. I still think your progress has been AMAZING. You look great! Keep on keeping on!
ShanBL's June 2009 Hell Week - try to keep up in Dec 2009, eh Kev?
6/29/09 500 pushups in 58 minutes. 6/30/09 1,000 squats in 29 minutes. 7/2/09 250 pullups in 58 minutes. 7/3/09 1/2 mile walking lunges in 28 minutes.
The last time I did it was 6/29-7/23, so it actually wasn't that long ago :) I list it under my BB Accomplishments so I don't have to go digging through my blog. Anywho, I'm pretty sure it will be done next month after I get through with the routine I'm on now. I will let you know as soon as I find out the date.
Thanks for your comment on my blog. I will change up my cardio. Been doing eliptical but starting a couch potato to 5K program tonight for my cardio portion. Hope to RUN a 5K or 30 minutes by end of January. BTW...CONGRATS on your weight loss! WOW...looking good!
I wrote out that workout since you seemed confused about the exercises... I'm sure you will never do them anyway ;) but go ahead and read it, its not so bad.
Hey dude, sorry for the late response. Ive really gotten in a rut since a few months ago. Unfrotunately im back into old habits as of now, eating horribly, drinking beers, etc. I havnt been to the gym in about 2 months. I just logged onto bb.com today and those old feelings of motivation are starting to come back...so thats good I hope. What I learned before I went through all this is that it is really so easy to fall off the wagon and completely fall behind. Hope to get back on track asap~!
