A Bit About Me
For me its not about impressing chicks to get dates, or about out bench pressing others, or even because I love bodybuilding and want to challenge myself with the sport, I do it for my acting career. I started working out in high school in I think grade 11 to upgrade my body for my acting career, I felt that being very skinny would affect the roles I would play negatively. I felt and feel that for hero and main roles, it’s a good idea if I am well, dissimilar from the heroines J It is also true that muscular size and intelligence often contribute to having more confidence and presence.
In grade 11 I think it was, I got a cheap bench, and mostly trained with 20 pound and 30 pound dumbbells. I did exercises like push-ups, one-arm concentration bicep curls, behind head tricep extensions, side laterals for shoulder, shoulder press, lunges, etc. I do not explain most exercises in this article, so look them up!
In grade 11 I think I was around 115 (around 5 ft 8 or 8.5) and before entering University of Toronto Scarborough campus (end of grade 12) I think I was around 130 pounds, when I reached there I finally got the opportunity to bodybuild in a gym that had much better equipment than I had at my house and that I had regular access to. My high school gym was only open 3 days a week and with the cancellations and my involvement in school clubs, etc, it wasn’t happening.
I started working out at UTSC in September and by the end of the year I gained another 20 pounds to 150 pounds. Now I could have grown a lot more but my dedication and effort were not as high as they could have been, I did not have the awesome regime that I am outlining here. I did gain some bad fat, one reason was that I started eating lots of Ice-cream and junk food, boy was I wrong about eating junk food to gain muscle mass, but I gained muscle too! I have not been working on my body as hard or as smart as I could have been but one day I feel I will have an AWE-SOME body that is MASStacular with more much muscle than I have now in 2008.
Gain lots of Muscle mass and after I get that mass to be cut,to be Big but not like a monster, and ofcourse have nice but not blocky abs eventually. SO not to be like a monster, but to be like an Adonis :)
Goal (Long):
Bodybuilding goal - Right now in 2008 I am around 150 pounds, before 2011 strikes (2 years) I want to get to 180 pounds. After that I will assess myself and perhaps make a new goal. If you have any tips feel free and I do appreciate it!
I want the kind of body that has good mass and cuts and nice abs(atleast when in display shape), the type of body that makes people double take. Ofcourse I bodybuild for my acting career so acting comes first, I dont want to get to the point when I am soo big that it totally screws with the perception of the characters I play. E.g. Its probably harder in my opinion for someone with a body like Ronnie Coleman to get big acting gigs than it is for someone with a body like Eddie Latoza. SO not to be like a monster, but to be like an Adonis :)

It's good to hear you're doing well! I used to take a 2 week break every 12 weeks, but I've recently started taking a one week break every 6. I like it better that way.
That's something you really have to figure out for yourself. Use a width that "feels" right. If you feel like you're isolating the lats and the width isn't uncomfortable, you're probably doing them right. Just don't go too narrow. Go as wide as you can without straining.
