I actually first got my start in fitness about 10 years ago. Before that I had no clue what real fitness was. I thought I was in shape because I weighed 114 and I could do some cardio. I thought fat-free meant it was healthy...even if it was loaded with sugar....and what was protein??? Well, I joined the army right after high school. I quickly learned I was not in shape at all. I gained 40 lbs in basic training. When I got to my first duty station in Korea I met someone who completely changed my life. That person made me realize what real fitness was. I learned that is was ok for girls to lift weights. I also learned to eat right. It was not long before training and eating right became an addiction. I loved it and I could not believe how fast my body changed. For this first time ever I was proud of the way I looked and confident. It was nice having others in the gym come to me and ask me for advise on training. After being a single mother I let that all get away from me. However, my motivation is back and I know I can get my old body back. I can't wait!!!
Why I Love It:
There are so many reasons but two of those reasons top the rest. First, I love the way it makes me feel. Second, I love the way it makes me look.
How I Stay Motivated:
Right now, I just look at pictures of myself 5 years ago. I even still have my size 4 jeans. I can't wait to get back in them.
BB Accomplishments:
Ask me a year from now. I should have a couple competitions to talk about then.
My goal is to get back to where I was before having 2 babies!
Goal (Long):
Before having kids, my body fat percentage was about 13%. I wore a size four and I was training hard to compete in my first figure competition. I found out I was pregnant after I had gained 20 lbs even though I was still eating clean and training hard. By the end of that first pregnancy, I had gained 80 lbs. Three days after giving birth I was back in the gym and back to my old diet of egg whites, tuna, grilled chicken, protein shake, whole grains, and veggies. I lost all of the weight quickly. Of course, right about the time I got back to my goal weight, I found out I was pregnant again. Losing the weight after my 2nd little girl was not as easy. I suddenly found myself a single mother of two. I was going to school full time and working full time. What little free time I had I wanted to spend with my two little girls. Training and eating healthy took a back seat. Well it has now been four years since my last little girl was born. I am finished with school and I now have a job I love. Problem is, I am now 40 lbs heavier than I use to be. I look and feal like crap. I have decided enough is enough. I want my old body and my confidence back. I have cleaned out the junk and filled my kitchen with clean food choices and I have gotten back in the gym. It has only been one week, but I am already fealing better. Hopefully it won't be too long before I am looking better too. I want to have my weight back down to 130 lbs and to have my body fat percentage back to 13% in six months. In one year, I will compete in my first figure competition!!!
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 40 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
13%
