I am hitting 50 this summer. Was athletic most of my younger life, but got too sedentary in my late 30s. Life stresses. Gained more than 100 pounds of bad weight. But God is good. I found my motivation through Him. Decided I want to go into my 50s strong and healthy, and I want to be around as long as I can for my family.
Why I Love It:
The endorphin rush is addicting. I love to sweat. I love the rush while cycling as I HIIT train. Sweating through lifting, pressing, pulling and pushing is amazingly energizing. Listening to heavy metal Christian bands via my iPod while working out is awesome and gets me through the hardest work outs. I see my body starting to transform and my overall health improving and I praise God. I watch older lifters than I, and I am awed. I wanna be like them when I grow up. I am grateful for setting a better lifestyle example for my son. Thank God!
How I Stay Motivated:
Through meditative prayer; making the right food choices; staying on target even when I do not feel like it. Hearing and feeling my husband's compliments while he touches my new defs. Hearing my son tell me, "Mom, you had an awesome work out today." Or "Mom, you looked great in your new bathing suit and you looked like a real pro in the pool today."
BB Accomplishments:
Having lost 50 pounds to date. Not huffing and puffing up stairs anymore. Seeing my body transforming from fat and fluffy to strong and firm.
It is pretty amazing, this human body that we all live in. God's design is way perfect than how we treat them. I think about all the years I wasted being too sedentary, and I marvel at how God has changed that for me and given me a new mind set. I practice active gratitude every day now....
