When I Started:
How I Started:
I've been in and out of the gym for years but I am finally learning "the right way" of doing things.
Why I Love It:
I love going to the gym and trying to outdo my last workout. Even if it is one more rep, I've succeeded.
The gym is a great place to let out steam and feel a sense of accomplishment....not socialize and hang out.
How I Stay Motivated:
My wife and kids and my work are great motivators. I want to demonstrate to my children the importance of taking care of your body and I want to look good for my wife....it's only fair because she looks great to me!
BB Accomplishments:
Losing nearly 20lbs of fat in 7 weeks! It was tough cleaning up my diet. I had the exercise part down but the diet was/is the most challenging and continues to be everyday. It is not easy! If fact, sometimes it sucks! But to me, it is so worth it.

Continue to monitor my body and learn what type of foods and exercise works best for me.
Goal (Long):
It is amazing to watch and feel your body react to specific types of training and eating. We all have the ability to shape our bodies and I am realizing this and more every day.
I do desire to become more lean and maybe a little bigger but I'm not too concerned with this right now. I just want to continue to be healthy, stay strong and most of all, not encounter any injuries at work or play.
If bulking up....5 sets of 5 to 6 reps and Heavy!
If cutting up....3 sets of 8 to 10 reps and Moderate weight.
Lifting heavier weight = more muscle fibers being shredded to bits = growth.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
If bulking up...2 minutes. More rest = greater strength for the next lift.
If cutting up...30 to 60 seconds. Shorter rest = higher heart rate for added cardio work while lifting.
