How I Started:
Got curious about where exactly my bellybutton was and wondered why I couldn't find it. Also was saddened to have to stop cordoury pants because of the fires I would start by my thighs rubbing together.
Ok, seriously... I was a very active person in high school; always running around with 3 jobs, 3 volleyball teams, teaching karate - and let that be an excuse to eat whatever I wanted. Joined my current employer (AKA: the man) and underwent a stressful 'college' experience (I let "academic rigour" make me fat). Graduated college, threw myself into work and couldn't figure out why I weighed 170lbs when I only ate once a day (I know now that a dr pepper does not equal lunch). Had a rough time with trip one to Iraq, came back sickly and 130lbs, taught myself to eat better but had no real exercise routine (the truth is, just 'cause you work for the man, doesn't mean you instantly look like the commercials). Boom: 156-160lbs. Determined to not be afraid of unit runs and PT tests (and I mean scared to death) and to take better care of myself this trip, I have dedicated myself to changing my lifestyle smartly - to the challenge of confidence and healthier living - for real and forever.
Why I Love It:
I take pride in doing what I said I was going to do. I feel great after I do it. Just starting to see that I actually have some muscle in here!!
How I Stay Motivated:
Wrote all my goals and 'words' on the wall so that when I wake up (etc), I can read them and be inspired. I enjoy reading the transformations that others have posted as much as they must feel good that they are teaching others.
BB Accomplishments:
Losing 10 pounds and having people I care about telling me I've toned down. Scoring the highest yet on my PT test.

Wow! It's been a year since I started lifting. I can't believe how great I feel. I'm proud of my self, how I look and my mental toughness through this experiance. Even on bad days, I can walk around with a smile on my face because I worked out, my pants are looser or I lifted more in a...
