When I Started:
Mar, 2009
How I Started:
I have been working out on and off since right out of high school but I had really let myself go the past 2 1/2 years, so now I have started again, joined the gym, also go walking and swimming. Hoping to reach my goal weight by my birthday this summer.
Why I Love It:
The invigorated high feeling you get after you stuck to it and pushed through the laziness and the wall. You feel accomplished. I also love feeling the muscles really working and the feeling of being stronger.
How I Stay Motivated:
read oxygen magazine, check in on here, and my-calorie-counter.com, and just trying to remember how good I used to feel about myself before when I could wear more stylish clothing and feel good in them and feel healthier.
BB Accomplishments:
7 years ago I lost more than 50 lbs and kept most of it off for about 4 years. I did this by joining a gym I liked and made nutrition and fitness a serious hobby. I fell off but I plan on doing it again, the right way again, not the unhealthy ways I have tried the past 3 years and gone up and down. I wanna keep it off!

I want to get rid of most of my body fat but more importantly I want to build strong lean muscle and be overall more healthy.
Goal (Long):
I have started to practice "clean eating" which I'm not sure I'll ever go back to how I used to eat ever again now that I have begun this lifestyle change. It's more than just diet food, or counting calories now, it's about what food is truly meant for, fuel for your body. I love how different food combinations and natural resources of foods can each play a vital and unique role in not just getting leaner but in your human body functions.
I was born with a heart condition that when I was younger, my doctor basically told me that I needed to live a sedentary lifestyle. So as got older I became overweight. Then I got a new doctor that helped guide me on what I trult can do and that I CAN be physical, and that I know my own limitations and to listen to my body to determine how far I can go. I began working out and lost 50 pounds. I loved all the praise I got from people and the comments. But when I went to college, I gained back 20 pounds. The music group I was in put a lot of pressure on me to lose weight. Coming from my peers but also ALL guys, it hurt me deeply and I developed an eating disorder, not feeling attractive enough or good enough. The eating disorder did nothing for my waist line, bulimia doesn't neccesarily help you lose weight, it just quells the guilt from losing control and over indulging on food. You think you have gotten rid of that guilt, but it's still there in a different form.
Because of my crazy body image problem, I made a lot of dumb choices. If I wasn't bulimic for a period of time than I was on some sort of crazy diet. As you can imagine, my metabolism was shot from all of this. So even when I tried to get a grip and would diet the "healthy" way, the weight came off so slow I would then give up and have to start over again.
I am 28 years old, 5'4 and 172 lbs. I started at 184 last month. I try to eat all natural foods with minimal added ingredients. I mostly follow the principles of Tosca Reno's "Eat Clean Diet". It's an amazing book with so much insight and important information. Studying and paying attention to what food really is and what it exactly does for your body has allowed me to look at food differently. it's allowed me to control my eating disorder, there is a certain control to be found in this way of eating, that doesn't lead you to crash and burn. You are getting what you need and knowing what the over processed foods do compared to the whole foods, the will power to eat right is easier because, I am more aware and those old foods don't even seem as appealing.
My goal is to continue down this path of healthy eating and healthy choices ( I cut back on caffeine, rarely drink alchohol, and limit sugar to fruit, low fat dairy or occasional honey, natural sugar forms)
Physically I want to lose at least 35 lbs. I want my body goal not to be as much about weight though and more about how toned and strong I become. But I do want to get out of the Obese and Overweight weight categories.
I want to become an ACE certified personal trainer and a CanFit Pro certified Nutrition and wellness expert.
I want to go a year without relapsing into old eating disorder behaviors (it's been a couple months now). And I want to be able to rock out in a hot little red swimsuit by August of this year!
