I started lifting weights Jan 2000 b/c I was tired of being skinny. I was hooked immediately. I began competeing in power lifting meets in Feb 2005 in Germany & bodybuilding Oct 2005.
Why I Love It:
It's a stress reliever for me & I also like to watch the transformation of my body. I've made decent gains in the 8 years I've been lifting.
How I Stay Motivated:
Motivation has never been an issue for me. Top 5 ways I stay motivated are: Hearing people say they're coming for me. Watching other cats hit the weights hard. The sucess I've had this previous year. All the comments I received on BodySpace :) & finally just looking at my before pic before I started hitting the weights.
Monday: Legs
Tuesday: Chest & 2 Exercises for Triceps
Wed: Back & 2 Exercises for Biceps
Thur: Shoulders(AM)& Legs(PM)
Friday: Biceps & 2 Exercises for Back
Sat: Triceps & 2 Exercises for Chest
Sun: REST :)
I do abs & cardio 2 to 3 times per week. I don't have a set abs routine, I just do whatever I feel like that day. For cardio I normally ride the bike or jump on the stairmaster. I'm in the Air Force so every now & then they make us get out there & run :(
People have also been asking about my diet. My diet may not work for you b/c we probably have different metabolism so don't expect the same results that I have acheive from my diet. I'm on a high protein (300 to 350 grams), moderate to high carbs (300 to 400 grams) & low fat (less than 50 grams) diet. My carb intake changes from time to time depending on if I'm tryin to gain, lose or maintain weight. Once again, just b/c this works for me doesn't mean it'll work for U :)
