When I Started:
Jan, 1997
How I Started:
Always wanted to get in shape, tired of being "skinny" - so I thought it was about time I did something instead of just saying "someday"
Why I Love It:
It offers an empowerment and confidence not gained from any other source. It affects all aspects of life - the physical just being a mere fringe benefit
How I Stay Motivated:
I live for the workout, to conquer and progress... without it, nothing seems to be right... the energy and mental sharpness is motivation in and of itself
BB Accomplishments:
I do not compete, although I have considered it. My major accomplishment was transforming from 6-3" 148 lb to 195 lb of muscle at very low bodyfat. I was also in Muscle & Fitness Success Stories with my wife in the March 1998 edition in the early stages of my transformation.

Goal (Long):
Remain healthy and strong and exhibit a positive lifestyle for my kids and those around me. To be an encouragement and inspiration to others. Continue to gain size while retaining low bodyfat levels... Be better at 50 than I was at 40... just as I was better at 40 than I was at 30... Would like to be 205 shredded...
My wife and I have made a new commitment to each other and to our physical fitness... years of stress and jobs and kids and activities pulled us in different directions and nearly cost us our family, our sanity, and our physical fitness... we started working out together back in 1997 and...
That sounds crazy!!!! I hope that doesn't happen, the MRI's show nothing is wrong with my discs luckily! (which is why none of the 5 or so back doctors I have been to can find anything wrong), I have some bone spurs, but they don't show any nerve interference. And I am afraid to go to a chiropractor and get adjusted. So for right now I will stick with MD's and hope someone eventually finds something.
I hope your neck injury gets better. What are you taking/doing to heal it? I'm asking, because I had a neck injury last year in July. My left shoulder and triceps muscles either hurt or just want to give out when I lift. Good luck in 2008 and great progress!
