My Supplement Philosophy View My Full Supplement Philosophy

Some may say my supplements don't do very much; but what I do take, helps in the long run.

Every morning I take a multivitamin (I change it up every 6-8 weeks, I love GNC's energy womens and Optimum nutrition "opti women"), Fish oil with Omega 3 (1200mg) , CLA (2000mg), and calcium with vitamin D (1200mg).

At lunch I take another CLA 2000mg

Before I go to bed I repeat the same regiment as morning.

 

Occationally when I feel down before a workout I will take Cellucor's Super HD or D4 thermoshock to get me pumped up.

As always, I love my protein shakes (Muscle Milk light - choc.). I make my favorite in a blender with fruit, rice milk, and protein.

(I have a milk sensitivity, hence the rice milk, calcium, and Muscle Milk-lactose free)

If you aren't motivated talk yourself up, find someone who can talk some sense into your head, or take some pre-workout and get after it!

zzbinks Well if you apply the same intensity, hard work, and focus you obviously applied to your body, I have no doubt you will achieve those goals in no time. :) body fat % just became a major focus point for me recently. Used to I just concentrated on getting "buff" but now I want a complete body. I like your attitude, I can certainly see how your journey has probably influenced that as well :) Jun 12, 2013 11:53am

Cheezziitt Don't forget good carbs and healthy fats! A balance diet is KEY! Get carbs in you especially before and after workouts. Don't be afraid of carbs (Rice, quinoa, and oatmeal). Trust me, carbs will be your best friend for muscle gain. Just stay clear of sugar and bad fats. Dec 23, 2012 8:13pm

Cheezziitt ahhhh Ok, that does make a difference, your endurance and VO2 max depends on consistency just as much as weight lifting. So your gains will need to be derived from your diet. If cardio is needed, which in your case is, you need to make sure your diet accommodates the loads you're putting on your body (cardio+lifting). You may just not be eating enough, you're burning right through it. Does this help? Dec 23, 2012 11:38am

Cheezziitt Sure it's linked to calories burned that day but its the muscle you build that revives up your burning ability. I haven't done a single min of cardio in 6 months! :P If you truly want to gain lean mass reduce your cardio and get on the right plan (clean carbs/protien - Balance!). You will seem like you're gaining weight per the scale but trust me you have to go up a tad to get down further with the muscle you desire. I can go on forever but hope this helps! Cheezziitt It does sound like you diet may be the culprit for the most part. Its much more then eating clean. The right diet for YOU is key to both leaning out AND gaining muscle. Everyone is difference but there are tons of diet plans on this site you can find and try. Another thing is the cardio, your metabolism and it's ability to burn more or less isn't linked to your cardio at all. Dec 21, 2012 5:02pm
