Background

When I Started: Sep 2004
HOW I STARTED:

I've been a life long athlete and participated in high school and collegiate sports (track/cross country, volleyball, gymnastics, soccer, dance). After coaching track in '04 I joined 24Hr. Fitness in Houston to get back in shape, saw the physiques that trainer Jolene Carter (www.jolenecarter.com) had worked with and wanted to look like them. She introduced me to figure competitions....the rest is history.

WHY I LOVE IT:

It's a great stress reliever. I enjoy the mental and physical discipline required to achieve the physique you desire.

31hr cross country drive from Cali to Mich was a success. Ate clean 85% of the trip. It just requires planning and preparation. Yes u can!

Although people can be quite spontaneous and random, we all have pretty set routines that are a part of our daily lives. During the almost 5 years I have resided in California, one of my morning routines included stopping by the AM/PM gas station on the way to work to get coffee. I would chat with the people who worked there and quickly developed friendships with most of them. Everyone was so friendly and I often found myself just stopping by to say hello, even when I didn’t want any coffee.

Hiking at Red Rock

Yesterday was a nice change of pace from being in the gym. I got to go hiking at Red Rock Canyon while spending time with my family in Las Vegas. In my mind, I was thinking we were going on an "outdoor walk", hence my dress. Next time I will invest in some hiking boots and pants. The weather was perfect; sunny and about 75 degrees. We trekked up the mountain for 45 minutes, enjoyed the scenery at the top and headed back down. We opted to skip the second summit because it was very windy. Ov

guest Hi Jumper:) Thank you for all your posts..however I would love to know what times you eat or how often? Or should I say what you may recommend? When should I stop eating carbs in the day. I love lifting and being the strongest...but leaner would be better. So for cutting how much does my food intake change..carbs/ fats/ proteins? sfadler I have lost 32 pounds so far now I want to start weight training to help lose some more weight and start building some muscle. I am not afraid of muscle. I want to see it, I want to feel it and I want to live it. How much weight, how often, what muscles on which days I am so lost.
