Overall Goal: No placing at Jr. USAs this weekend, but my physique looked phenomenal! The judges??? Bless their hearts they don't know a good physique when they see one...LOL!!

I've been a life long althlete and participated in high school and collegiate sports (track/corss country, volleyball, gynmastics, soccer, dance). After coaching track in '04 I joined 24Hr. Fitness in Houston to get back in shape, saw the physiques that trainer Jolene Carter had worked with and wanted to look like them. She introduced me to figure competitions....the rest is history.
Why I Love It:
It's a great stress reliever. I enjoy the mental and physical discipline required to achieve the physique you desire.
How I Stay Motivated:
Constantly reassessing my goals and having something new to work toward. I am EASILY bored, so I find that I always have to challenge myself w/ new classes, workouts, new looks, etc.
BB Accomplishments:
Winning my very first show (NPC John Sherman Classic 11/04). Winning my first overall figure title (NPC Flex Wheeler Classic 7/08). Winning INBA Figure Olympia Title 11/08.

I had a 22lb rebound during the off season of 2006....oops!! Went from a size 2-4 (136lbs) to a 10-12 (158lbs)Had some nice hips, but the roll hanging over my pants was too big, so it had to go.(But man the food tasted so good!) :)
Bakersfield shoot on a Sunday afternoon. I was till pretty lean from the Natural Olympia Show on 11-08-08. About 140lbs.

All the hard work definitely paid off. I won the title of INBA's Ms. Figure Olympia on Saturday, Nov 8 in San Francisco. It was my final competition of the year. I had an awesome time meeting and talking with all the other girls, competitors and spectators. Everyoine was so nice. Thank you...
Thanks, Laura. That means so much coming from you. I have just two more weeks to go, a show in October and then I am going to take next year off to train and eat. What's next for you?
You did? lol...I've been craving Blue Bell Rocky Road ever since I returned to the U.S. You deserved every tasty spoonful for the fantastic physique you crafted. Stupid judges...:(
Indeed, such a 'subjective' sport right? Looks like you have a healthy objective...performing 'better' than you did personally the last time. The best is yet to come!
Congrats on your placing. I see you and I see 1st place. You are another reason why I am working so hard because I to would like to compete! THank you!
