"To get strong enough to compete in powerlifting."

When I Started:
1998
How I Started:
I started working out when I was a senior in high school. Then, as now, I was really trying to get stronger--not necessarily to bodybuild.
Why I Love It:
I would use the word "love" it its most loosest sense here. I love it only sometimes; the other times I begrudge having to work out. Since I use it mainly for stress relief, at least for now, it most always pays off.
How I Stay Motivated:
I don't...and that's a consistent problem. I take all the help/inspiration/motivation I can get, from whatever sources--right now, from my workout partner, who always me to train harder.
BB Accomplishments:
<<they should change this category to "Your Major Fitness Accomplishments" since not everyone on the site bodybuilds--but everyone here, in some way, desires fitness.
Benching 225 @ 130lbs, which I accomplished a year ago. Since I took a hiatus from lifting, I've been trying to get that strength back.

I'm working on my powerlifting total weight: deadlift, bench press, and squat.

I'd like to get strong enough, meaning increase my totals for squat, deadlift, and bench press, in order to be competitive enough to enter powerlifting competitions.
I used to powerlift some in college, but never competed. I enjoyed the strength I gained, but of course, remained envious of others who chose to pursue more aesthetic goals, such as bodybuilding or fitness modeling. In the years following that, I oscillated between getting stronger with bulking up. Now, however, I want to devote my energy to getting stronger.
I'd like to be able to bench 200% of my bodyweight; squat 250%; and deadlift 200%.
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Sciatica - for a month and some days.
Recently, I battled an upper back, shoulder injury, for which I sought chiropractic care. Apparently, cracking my neck and back produced hyper-lax ligaments in those areas, inducing my surrounding muscles to overcompensate and overreact to weight resistance. So, when I hyper-extended that area's muscles, they seized and produced spasms and extended soreness. The cure has been to stop self-adjusting my back and neck and rest, with a moderately frequent regimen of chiropractic adjustment. I'm nearly through my healing process and have since returned to my normal workout routine. Sciatica - for a month and some days.

What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
Right now, I'm bulking. So, I've resumed a raw dairy and whole foods approach; although I do supplement my dietary intake with protein and recovery drinks.
I've resumed my old routine after some lighter lifting due to a mild back injury. I've grown more attuned to my body's reaction to resistance so that I don't repeat what happened last time. Aside, the weather here in New York is beautiful! So, I'm trying to enjoy it.
Dayyyyum! U must've been "sick" when it dropped. But, hey, it's no "weirder" than my weight chart (although always within 5lb. range). I'm doing wayyyyy better than 10 months ago. The human body simply amazes me. We bang it up...heal...and feed it nutrients and exercise to sculpt it and gain strength. But U already know THAT!!! *smile*
"Whitty comments and quite a detailed space"...extremely observant Jay- I like that :) Cheers to you and much luck on your goals....you have a beautiful smile complimenting the whole rest of you- ciao!
Yeah, it can also be phases that our bodys go through, not sure. I had a huge drop off earlier this year, and now it's coming back. Hopefully stronger. Good luck with it
Looks like you went through the same thing I did on your bench. It got up there and then dropped off for whatever reason. Looks like it's on the way back up, congrats.
