Overall Goal: Just to be stronger, have more self confidence, and be able to know that every day, I'm in the best health I can possibly be

When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
I signed up for a contest at work modeled after "The Biggest Loser, and lost close to 15 pounds in excess water weight and some fat after about 6 weeks. When I realized that I'd have to lose about 50 to compete with some of the people there, I cut some cardio and picked up the weights. The rest is history.
Why I Love It:
I just love the feeling after a hard workout, knowing that I gave it my all and that I'm getting healthier along the way. I've also made some great friends at the gym.
How I Stay Motivated:
I keep a picture of myself weighing 215lbs by my mirror, and not healthy at all. I have lifting buddies that keep eachother mutually motivated. When I've hit some type of milestone, I treat myself to a good massage or go splurge on something I've wanted for a while like an mp3 player or DVD

I finally found a picture of me last year with a shirt off. This is about a month after I had started the weight loss contest for work. I'm about 200 to 205 in this shot, and its probably for the best that its a little fuzzy:-)
Some Muscular definition showing on the arms. Still shadows of the abs I hope to someday have.
I started with a pretty basic routine, changed to the "Muscletech training schedule early this year, and since I'm taking a weight lifting class now, I've progressively tweaked the program to better suit my needsI started with a pretty basic routine, changed to the "Muscletech training schedule early this year, and since I'm taking a weight lifting class now, I've progressively tweaked the program to better s...more
So the last three weeks have been a cutting phase for me. I've tried my best to restrict my diet to 12 calories per pound, consisting of one gram of protein per pound and as little staurated fat as possible. The first two weeks seemed to be going very well for me as I went down from 196....
Dude, that goal is up to you. I'm going for more muscle while staying lean. But with summer, I say drop the fat and then start bulking come mid-late fall. Then we'll get some mass going. See you in class tomorrow.
What a lovely compliment, thank you so much for the feedback & also the friendship invite! Please feel free to drop by anytime to say hello, I look forward to getting to know my new friends :)
