When I Started:
May, 1986
How I Started:
Graduated HS weighing 265 lbs, was fat all my life and wanted to get thin. I lost 110 lbs after my first year of college and was way too thin then, but I did not realize it till 10 yrs later. I really started to work out after I turned 30. Was doing good till I found out I had cancer, I was at 195 lbs at the time and looked pretty good. After all the treatments I was down to 130, at 6'1", basically skin and bones. I started working out again and got back up to 170, but never did get all my muscle tone back.
Why I Love It:
Love the way I feel after a good workout
How I Stay Motivated:
By seeing the changes in the body.
BB Accomplishments:
None, and unfortunately there never will be any. I was recently diagnosed with a very rare condition called schwannomatosis, I have tumors that are growing on my nerves. March of 07' I had a tumor removed from my sciatic nerve in my left leg, in the process I have lost 1/2 of my hamstring muscle and have lost 1/2 the feeling in my leg. The worst part about the condition is that it causes PAIN throughout your entire body. So now I live on pain pills, unfortunately. But I dod want to say to all of you to keep up your training and stay focused. You all look great.
Jeff, thanks for the add. If you had good lean mass at almost 200 lbs. You are certainly young enough to do it again. Bump those healthy proteins up to at least 1.25 grams per pound of bodywieght. A lot of repsect for coming back from more than one challenge.
Cheers for the add mate. You've had some tough times, but that's a true sign of perseverence to get through them and move forward. Looks like you're putting on some muscle, good work.
