Marshall University Attended 1990 to 1993 Huntington, West Virginia United States
High School:
When I Started:
Jan, 1990
How I Started:
While attending univeristy many years ago, one of my core requirements was to to take a physical education class. On the first day of class, I found out that I was the only science geek in the class which was made up mostly of the Marshall University football team. I had never lifted a weight in my life. I was intimidated, scared and expected to be made fun of and treated badly. I couldn't have been MORE WRONG. They took me under their wing, motivated me to do well in the class and inspired me to never give up and to never quit!. It was a life changing experience. After the class was over, I continued lifting and had an awesome workout buddy. He was a preacher, bodybuilder great friend and mentor. I will always be grateful to all of them and am forever a Marshall University Thundering Herd Fan. How lucky I was!!. From that point on, I made training a part of my life.
Why I Love It:
Love to keep in shape. Like seeing the results. Great stress reliever. Mind, body and spiritual balance.
How I Stay Motivated:
After a long recovery from a broken vertebrae and a ruptured disk, I Changed my attitude from "WHY ME?" into "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT IT". Once I put my mind to something I stick with it. Ask anyone who knows me.
1. All the great people here who are guiding me along the way. A big thanks!
2. My Life credos that I follow:
"Pray, hope and don't worry"

"Nothing good or bad Lasts forever"
"Nothing is impossible"

Dave inspires me because he remained extremely persistent in his goal of obtaining 17-inch guns! Now he has taken it to the next level and is well on the way to obtaining 18 inch guns! His blogs are honest, humorous and thought provoking. In addition, he has given me a lot of motivation, good advice and support from day one when I started out here at 270 pounds. Thanks Dave!
Rick,
Thank you for all of your motivation and support. Each time I lost a pound you would always leave encouraging comments telling me to stay strong and to keep going and for that I am grateful!

I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by. I began my journey on December 14, 2007 here at bb.com at 270 pounds and that was at the lowest point of my life. My first year here was great! From December 2007 to December 2008 I dropped 91 pounds and then went on to drop another 15. ...
It hasn't been going great lately. I love my current routine, and I am putting on muschle, but I am really struggling with my diet....that time of year...and want to lose this roll in a bad way. Has me down a little. Also had a TON of migraines lately. Makes it hard to get to the gym.
All the best to you and your family for the holidays. Things on a rocky road right now, but all is well. getting refocussed and determined 2010 is MY year
