Overall Goal: I lost 106 pounds after a long recovery from a fractured vertabrae and ruptured disk. I was honored when BB.com selected me for Transformation of the Week! I am taking it to the next level to now put on 20 pounds of muscle!
Fit Status:
Feeling better and will have a great workout with my trainer tomorrow.
Marshall University Attended 1990 to 1993 Huntington, West Virginia United States
High School:
When I Started:
Jan, 1990
How I Started:
While attending univeristy many years ago, one of my core requirements was to to take a physical education class. On the first day of class, I found out that I was the only science geek in the class which was made up mostly of the Marshall University football team. I had never lifted a weight in my life. I was intimidated, scared and expected to be made fun of and treated badly. I couldn't have been MORE WRONG. They took me under their wing, motivated me to do well in the class and inspired me to never give up and to never quit!. It was a life changing experience. After the class was over, I continued lifting and had an awesome workout buddy. He was a preacher, bodybuilder great friend and mentor. I will always be grateful to all of them and am forever a Marshall University Thundering Herd Fan. How lucky I was!!. From that point on, I made training a part of my life.
Why I Love It:
Love to keep in shape. Like seeing the results. Great stress reliever. Mind, body and spiritual balance.
How I Stay Motivated:
After a long recovery from a broken vertebrae and a ruptured disk, I Changed my attitude from "WHY ME?" into "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT IT". Once I put my mind to something I stick with it. Ask anyone who knows me.
All the great people here who are guiding me along the way. A big thanks!
My Life credos that I follow:
"Pray, hope and don't worry"
"Put out the good and it will return to you tenfold"
"Nothing good or bad Lasts forever"
"Nothing is impossible"
BB Accomplishments:
BB.com Over 40 Transformation of the week!
Losing 106 pounds so far and putting on muscle mass on my chest and arms.
Going from a 44 relaxed fit jeans down to a 30 regular fit jeans.
Tricep cable pushdown 320 pounds x 10 repsx 3 sets.
Leg extension: 320 pounds x 15 reps.
This is me at my worst at 270 pounds wearing a 2XL sweater that is too small with 44 relaxed fit jeans that are too small also. This was my turning point to lose weight and to get back into shape again.

Dave inspires me because he remained extremely persistent in his goal of obtaining 17-inch guns! Now he has taken it to the next level and is well on the way to obtaining 18 inch guns! His blogs are honest, humorous and thought provoking. In addition, he has given me a lot of motivation, good advice and support from day one when I started out here at 270 pounds. Thanks Dave!
The Captain was one of the very first people to welcome me here to bb.com. When i first joined bb.com, I didnt think that anyone would care about a 270 pound fat guy like me. I was wrong! The Captain's transformation was instrumental in motivating me to go for my goals. The captain is a true example that anything is possible and nothing is impossible.
Working with a pro trainer exceeded my expectatons. I worked back and chest and really pushed myself, I know that tomorrow I’m going to be sore. I can understand the importance of having a trainer. It was one of the best quality workouts that I have done to date and a trainer can...

Hey, Joe. Trying to stick with it. Have slacked some, but getting re-motivated for more weight loss and muscle gain. Thx for stopping by - enjoy the week!
I say you posted about your first session. I am going to be watching for anything I can learn from your experience with him. You will have to post some progress pics!
HI! Joe, so good to hear from you, I would like more warmth, but this season is ok. it´s November, and no snow...New week of nightshifts coming up, starting with a leg day.
Just passing by, wishing you good week ahead, I was bloging my Saturday training and this afternoon I added some tyles to the citchenfloor. My very best.
You've got plenty to brag about. Keep it up. I got scared of doing bench press alone, so I bought a PowerTec Machine. It's going to be fine, but I swapped my old plates for new Oly plates. The plates are in backorder and so is my workout. Soon as I get my stuff, watch out. :-)
