Background

When I Started: Jan 1990
HOW I STARTED:

While attending univeristy many years ago, one of my core requirements was to to take a physical education class. On the first day of class, I found out that I was the only science geek in the class which was made up mostly of the Marshall University football team. I had never lifted a weight in my life. I was intimidated, scared and expected to be made fun of and treated badly. I couldn't have been MORE WRONG. They took me under their wing, motivated me to do well in the class and inspired me to never give up and to never quit!. It was a life changing experience. After the class was over, I continued lifting and had an awesome workout buddy. He was a preacher, bodybuilder great friend and mentor. I will always be grateful to all of them and am forever a Marshall University Thundering Herd Fan. How lucky I was!!. From that point on, I made training a part of my life.

WHY I LOVE IT:

Love to keep in shape. Like seeing the results. Great stress reliever. Mind, body and spiritual balance.

Bally Total Fitness- SOLD TO LA FITNESS!

Today i received a notification stating that Bally Total fitness has sold all of their gyms to LA Fitness.  The letter went on to say that LA fitness will honor my contract that I had with Bally Total fitness. I will treat this like a UFO and believe it when I see it.  Gyms like LA fitness are in the game to make money.  In my opinion they are not going to grandfather in all of these people from Ballys without hitting them up for some kind of additional charge or expense so that means that a lot of folks are going to get screwed.  I was aware that Ballys was in financi...

Sometimes good things happen completely by chance.  I was checking out a local thrift store and bought an awesome diet book to cut bodyfat.  It is a well-written book and it contains an excellent outline of a carb cycling diet. It gives a great weekly diet plan and breaks everything down and it is easy to understand.  Simply put, the diet rotates every other day between high and low carbs.  There are foods included in this diet that I have not eaten in several years such as apples and pears.  I also bought a bag

It’s been a while since I last wrote an update so here it goes.  I’ve been staying focused on my routine and cut diet and plateaued at 173 pounds.  I’ve been through many plateaus before and this one will pass just like the previous ones have.  I’ve been getting in 2 cardio sessions each day.  I am lucky that I have the kind of job where I can walk to where I have to go.  It was fortunate to be permitted to have that choice to walk instead of drive.  I am not the kind of person who enjoys a...
