When I Started:
Jul, 1989
How I Started:
When I turned 12 yrs old, my sister bought me my first weight set. With absolutley no idea and no bench, I plopped down on the floor and started moving weight. It's been my thing ever since.
Why I Love It:
I love the instant respect I get when I walk in a room and get the "Hey, big guy" greeting. I love the powerful feeling and strength. Most of all, I love the knowledge that comes from years of training that I can pass down to anyone willing to listen
How I Stay Motivated:
Motivation is as easy as breathing when you love what you're doing.
BB Accomplishments:
I've gained around 30 lbs. of pure unadulterated natural lean muscle mass in the past 5 years of training.

My overall goal is to reach and maintain 225 lbs. at 6% BF.
Goal (Long):
I want a proportional physique with a full chest, wide back, 20" arms, and a solid, strong base. I want to walk around on a daily basis with the appearance of a bodybuilder preparing for a show.
Jamie is the perfect example for people to look up to for inspiration in this lifestyle. She not only looks absolutely stunning, but she gives back to us all through workout videos, Tips of the Week, and even recipies for preparing foods. A truly successful person of this industry.
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
Motivation has never been a problem for me. I love to work out with weights. I love the gym environment and I love the benefits of the work. I guess in order to stay motivated I just have to remind myself why I love to do it. That and the female attention aint bad either.Motivation has never been a problem for me. I want to start this off by saying all due respect to those in the industry especially trainers. You all have a difficult task balancing your personal efforts toward your clients and your obligations toward the gym you work for. I'm going to vent a little here. I was a trainer for a...
I generally try to perform two warm up sets with medium weight at the beginning of each muscle groups training session. After the warm up, I perform three or four working sets with a rep range of 8-12 reps.
Day #1- Back Attack
Bent BB row
Wide grip pull down
Hammer Strength high row

you! Bodyfat?? Where?????? Right now my challenge is to see if I can successfully combine/integrate hitting the weights and doing the race walking. Never have in the past but I am thinking I've got a way now. If I ever wander from my course, just post a MM pic or biceps shot. That'll do the job of humiliating me into lifting weights again. LOL (heck, that's what inspiration is for, isn't it??)
While I'm sure there's some genetic help going on there, I'll back you on the work ethic bit. The best genes in the world don't build a body like yours if you only went through the motions at the gym.
LOL. Oh yeah, I can imagine. But looking at the original garage workout pics you're sweating up a storm. The effort you must put into your workouts would probably make most of us puke trying to keep up with the big guy.
Sweet! The man's got arms bigger than my legs and my 1 rep max weights don't even get as high as your starting warm-ups ... and your diet is Outback Steakhouse. ;-)
LOL. Oh, I can completely emphasize with that statement/feeling. But no worries, no one would ever make any joking comments about that to you. :) A 6'1" mountain of muscle would simply be getting 'Yes Sir, Mr Foreman, you're looking incredible, Mr Foreman' :-) Of course THAT would be 110% accurate, too
In your case, maintaining is keeping up a very high level of physical development :) I know in the past you had thought about competing ... any more thoughts on that for 2010?
Things are going great. :) A little too much summertime 'cheer' that I need to take off with better eating, LOL. I've got the next 10 weeks off (very long vacation) so I'm planning on hitting the gym more often. No having work as an excuse. :) How about you??
HEY BIG J! HOW'S THE W/O's THESE DAYS! HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY MOTIVATION FROM YA LATELY! I'VE HAD THE BEST MONTH OF MY W/O LIFE IN TERMS OF SIZE & STRENTH GAINS. STAY STRONG & BE BLESSED, Dave.
