I played Div I Softball at UC Berkeley and was huge into Strength and Conditioning. I loved the results and after college continued to work out. Recently a trainer (ex-bodybuilder)from my gym asked if I competed. I told him no but that I was interested and he highly encouraged my to sign up for a competition.
Why I Love It:
I love how it makes me feel. I feel healthy, young and empowered. And I think muscles on a woman are very sexy!
How I Stay Motivated:
When I get tired or start to feel unmotivated I read magazines (muscle and fitness, oxygen, etc) and look at pictures of me at my best. I also log onto bodybuilding.com quite often and read articles that get me going as well.
I need to lose quite a bit of fat but some musle as well. I started at 153 ish lbs in August and am currently down to 136. I pack on muscle very easily but also hold extra fat. I signed up for a competition on Oct. 20 so I am doing what every figure competitor tells you not to... crash diet! I play pro softball so the training is very different and it is impossible to diet they way you should for a show while also competing in softball. My last game was Aug 28 and I imediately began dieting after that. I've lost 17 lbs and have a bit more to go. I have no idea what my body fat percentage should be. Right now all the generic charts tell me I'm about 20-22% but I also have no idea how accurate that is. I really don't think it's that high (you can see my progress pics). I haven't used a caliper or bod pod- just measurements. Not much time left to lose the weight but I'm up for the challenge!
Hello. I am training for my first competition on October 20. I have lost about 12 lbs in the past month or so and still have about 10 to go (give or take depending on how i think i look as i get closer). Things were going smoothly- I was losing weight steadily and had energy-but I have hit...
I run 3 miles at 7AM with my dog 6 days a week. In the evening after work and softball practice I go to the gym and do 45 min cardio between the step mill and the elyptical as well as 30 to 45 min of weight lifting. Right now I am only working Back, Shoulders, Abs as well as maintaining Legs...
Wow!! Looking Good! Just wanted to take the time to say hi and to wish you the best of luck and much success in meeting all your fitness goals. Train Hard!
