I got a wakeup call when I tipped the scale at nearly 250lbs, and when you stand only 5' 4" that was a big problem. My energy was through the floor and how could I be happy with myself when I looked like that. So, I found BodySpace and started working out and watching my diet. I messed up a whole bunch of times but now I'm starting to see some real progress.
Why I Love It:
I love it because it gives me something to have pride in. I feel better about how I look and my energy is back. I love it because it's hard and because I've found friends who make it fun.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by seeing results. I don't think anybody can stay motivated for long if they never see any progress and so I try really hard to make sure that in some small way I am always moving forward.
I also have a mantra. "I do it because I need something that I can’t win; something I can only strive for. If I could win it, then I could stop. If I’m striving then I can still remain hungry and in position to take ground."
BB Accomplishments:
My biggest accomplishment was being able to bench 250 pounds. Now I'm gunning for 300. I'm making small gains every week. I know I'll get there.
The Arnold Classic had become a big event for me and my friend James. We make plans every year to go, and each year we try to go down with new personal bests. This year my goal is to lean out a little more and show off some definition. One hundred ninety is this year's, "must have goal," but 180 would be better if I could swing it. Wish me luck, and I'll work my butt off and do my part!
How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
Between 6 and 10
If I can do 10 reps for three sets in a row then I need to make the weight heavy enough that I can only do six reps for 3 sets. I keep moving up like that.
I look at the scale too much. There always seems to be a dissapointment whenever I look at that wretched thing. I'm either not losing enough or not losing quickly enough and no matter what I do I keep struggling to get under 210 again. My goal is 190 and I can't even...
