When I first joined the Army in 2004, I was weighing in at 145 pounds. After basic training I gained weight and made it to 155 pounds. I maintained a healthy and active lifestyle until I had a major event changed my situation in the Army back in 2006. I lost motivation in everything and shot up to close to 200 pounds! Eventually, I got tired of struggling with my PT test when a few years earlier, I could max it out without breaking a sweat! I also started growing more and more self conscious and knew that something had to be done.
Why I Love It:
How I Stay Motivated:
I start to think of where I was at and where I am now. The two pictures alone is enough to move me. It upsets me to know that I let myself go and now I push that anger into the gym with me. I have good friends that I really look up to and they provide me the extra motivation and assistance.
When I first got into the Army, I was in decent shape and could pass the APFT with very little struggle. Past events have left me in a state where I didn't care about anything, and as a result, I have let myself go. My goal is to get back to where I was at then improve from there!
