Congratulations on the weight loss so far and, I think it's great that your motivation is to be a good example for your kids! :) Have a Happy New year.
congrats man thats a lot of weight to lose. Sorry though i'm not really sure of what else you could do besides the cardio and abs. maybe tweak the diet a little?
Excellent! That's the way it should be. You should never get to the point where you are hungry before you eat. Keep making small changes to your diet and you will see the body fat start to come off. -Jeff
Heya jombitos,
Good to hear your training is going well! The bodyfat will fall off pretty quick once you drop the cals.. Things are good, training hard. I'm going back into a bulking phase, so I'm pretty much eating everything within 3 metres of me :) Then I'll cut again leading into December (Aussie summer)
Cheers, Sammy.
If you can, pull that 6PM meal 30-60 minutes ahead of your training so that you can get some carbs and other nutrients in your body before you train. You will burn it off during training. The low carb post workout shake is fine after 8PM to re-supply your body after a kick butt workout. -Jeff
You will need to have your BF% checked weekly and your weight. I purchased calipers from BB.com so that I can check my BF anytime at home. With calipers and a scale you will know if you are loosing muscle or just BF. I only do cardio once a day for 30 minutes. I walk a good amount during the day so any more cardio would just be overkill. -Jeff
Cheers! I bulked for 6 weeks, otherwise I just would have been skinny if I cut straight away. Cutting wise, I didn't do any real cardio, just the odd session once a week. Most of the cuts are from calorie deprivation. I dropped calories to 1700 a day over 6 meals.
Training wise, I do a 4 day split: Chest Monday, Back Tuesday, Shoulders/arms Thursday, Legs Saturday. Abs 3 times a week during the last couple of weeks to help with ab definition.
Best of luck! Stay in touch!
Thanks for the comments. The six small and clean meals per day are key. I also keep the amount of carbs I eat low and cut them off completely at 6pm. Finally, I get in 30 minutes of cardio first thing in the morning Monday thru Friday to aid with burning off the body fat. Keep in touch and let me know how your training is going. -Jeff
