When I was about 5 or 6 years old, my dad was into body building and had a home gym in our damp basement. He built his own bench and had a Sears cable system. I started playing with his weights then. OK, so I seriously started guided weight lifting when I was 11 years old, but I like to think of dad's little gym as my true foundation for the love of all things fitness.
Why I Love It:
Why not?
How I Stay Motivated:
I'm getting older now, so my motivation is more about adding to the quality of my life.
BB Accomplishments:
I was a fat 216 pounds at 24 yrs old, dropped down to 185 @ the rate of 5 lbs/week, and then I spend the next 8 years working to build muscle up to 235 lbs(6'0" tall).
Forum Signature:
"Fitness, health and exercise by nature needs to be designed or better said, organically cultivated such that it adds value to your life in terms of general health, activities, stress management, appearance and yes, sexuality." by John Davies of Renegade Training www.renegadetraining.com
Keep up my current consistency to work towards the goal of feeling and looking more fit.
Goal (Long):
I recently had my cholesterol checked and was just a bit high on Total cholesterol. My good cholesterol was high, but so was my bad. I need to get diet under control and stick with my training. In order to maintain the healthy lifestyle that I preach, I need to lead by example and get to a comfortable weight while maintaining my muscle.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 15 lb
Bodyfat Goal:

Why do you like having a workout partner? What are the benefits?
I'm a little indifferent about having a workout partner. I've worked out for the last 10 years without one, but it's a nice change of pace to have someone there to spot you to failure. Fortunately, my partner (when he shows up ~ you know who you are), is also a good friend. So, we have an opportunity to catch up and chat during/between sets.I'm a little indifferent about having a workout partner. What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
It depends on how much weight they're lifting. If it looks like a heavy load, then I don't mind.
Why I like this video: Arnold was the greatest, and in my opinion, he looks better than anyone I've ever seen compete since. He's obviously not as big as current competitors, but in my opinion he looks better.
After a response to a private message I received today, I got to thinking about the number of things that take place in a day as a father, husband, and employee. I list those three, because they are the roles that define my life the most. I could also say that I'm a Catholic, a fitness...
Well thankyou very much! I've had more time for my the past two years, now that my oldest 3 are on their own. But the ages range from 20 down to 5...so I am still really busy! Best of success to you always, Amy
Making your fitness dreams come true can happen sooner than you think. I lost over 50 lb’s and dropped my bodyfat from 36% to 10% and my wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from size 12/14 to 4/6 in only 12 weeks by following the Body for Life program. It’s not the easiest program out there but it’s still not so hard that you can’t reach your goals. Push yourself (possibly out of your comfort zone) and the results will be well worth the effort.
