Overall Goal: I'm a Nationally Ranked powerlifter (Powerlifting USA Magazine Top 100). I'm looking to get as strong as possible in my weight class (165lbs).

A guy I had worked with had been powerlifting for 26 yrs. Back in August '03, he had just finished a meet and came in with a picture of himself squatting 700lbs at 196lb bodyweight. I was blown away by this and wanted to start, so I asked him to train me.
Why I Love It:
Powerlifting is challenging.. physically, but more so mentally and emotionally. I compete for me. I don't care what the next guy is doing or what his numbers are. It's something that keeps me going to improve myself.
How I Stay Motivated:
I just have this mentality to keep at it. It's become a part of me. I want to do this, I want to get bigger numbers. I compete in the AAPF (drug-tested) and APA (drug-tested) federations. Some of these meets combine the non-drug tested and drug tested competitors together. It feels great knowing that when you are competing against a drug-enhanced athlete and your numbers end up better or comparable to theirs
BB Accomplishments:
My best lifts in competition:
AAPF Nationals - 429.9lbs (195kg) Bench @163lb bodyweight 4/15/07
AAPF Nationals - 556.66lb (252.5kg) Deadlift @162lb bodyweight 8/5/08
AWPC World's - 639.33lb (290kg) Squat @162lb bodyweight 8/5/08
APA Bench Record in CT in 165lb class - 410lbs
2-Time (2007, 2008) Defending World Champ AWPC 165lb Weight Class

Last post was after squatting 585. This past Sunday, I pushed it a little more and went to 635. Low, In, and Strong. I squat with 2 other guys, one is a Submaster 198lb 727lb+ squat record holder, and the other is a 240lb kid (17yrs old) who has squatted 675 in training. We all squatted 635...
Monday - Speed bench work, shoulders and Tri work
Tuesday - Speed squat work, speed dead work, back, maybe... maybe biceps (they aren't used in powerlifting, and get plenty of work while doing back
Thursday - Heavy bench day, shoulder and tri work
Friday or Sat - Heavy Squat, Heavy...
