well right now im going to try to bulk a little bit, try to fill in and let some of the extra skin i have tighten up, then try to cut a little slower than last time this summer so that i dont lose the musclemass
Good to hear, yeah, it's tough to gain lean mass, and lose BF. Yes, I still seem to be gaining mass while slimming down my waist, I am currently a 29" waist. It's been tough, but this diet and routine seems to be working just fine for me. Don't give up, and stay on top of your routine, you're looking very solid bro.
Hey John, training is going very well bro, hope things are going well for you. I can't say I have ever bulked, I tend to eat as clean as possible. I stay on a high protein, moderate carb, low fat diet year round. I might make muscle gains a little slower than I would if I bulked, but I like that lean mass! Lean mass is what I am after. A lot has to do with diet, and to get those arms bulging you got to hit them hard. Check out my second blog for what I am currently eating.
Hey John, I gotta tell ya that you have made some awesome progress since January! You may have lost some strength during the process but look at the results. Lean with excellent size and shape. I would like to help with a clean bulk suggestion but I have not needed to do one yet. I've been working on a slow cut for over 12 months to keep the size I have and even bump it up some. I do make sure my diet is high in protein to keep feeding the muscles. -Jeff
John, your progress pics are incredible. What a great transformation bro. Much respect to you for the work you have put in. Keep going bro...at your age there's no limit to what you can achieve!
Yes, cardio is a must for anyone wanting to get in shape, or stay in shape..However, I keep it limited because I am trying to gain LBM (Lean Body Mass). Don't want to over do it, therefore I run only 2 times a week, Tuesday and Thursday. Running a mile in under 8 mins. A lot has to do with diet though, remember "High protein, moderate carb, low fat".
Honestly I would say nutrition is just a little more important in order to get those abs to really come through. I stick to low fat, moderate carb, limited sugar diet. Stay away from sugary juices or drinks of any kind, and don't over do-it with the carbs. Carbs are important however because they are the main source of energy, and after you have used those up, your energy than relies on fat...and say no to the fellas at work who want to go get shit food for lunch.
Hit those abs everyday bro, I hit them everyday, and do 4 sets of 30-40 reps of cable crunches, 4 sets of 15-20 leg/knee lifts, 4 sets of 30 reps on decline crunches, and 4 sets of weighted oblique crunches. It's painful and takes dedication, but well worth it. Abs will pop!
Hey bro, Your progress is outstanding. My training has been going great. I have been doing a ton of cardio. My new progress pic tells all. This month I have quit taking all supps aside from a multivitamin. I have been on creatine and protein for the past 5 months. I will probably begin using a good creatine again next month. Have you tried Gackic?
Excellent progress John. You can't ask for anything more than what your body is already doing. Great work and keep it going. BTW, all is well with me and my training. I will be showing some additional improvement in my physique at my 12 month progress mark. -Jeff
You're looking amazingly fit!! Just wanted to take the time to say hi and to wish you the best of luck and much success in meeting all your fitness goals. Train Hard!
