When I Started:
May, 2004
How I Started:
I did a little in college, but the military has really pushed my desire for fitness to the forefront. I am a self-motivator and usually work out alone. No one to slow me down, baby!
Why I Love It:
I love the burn, I love the ache the day afterwards. Lifting, running, swimming, martial arts...being active is well, a way of life for me now.
How I Stay Motivated:
I am not a fastidious person. I look at my body, I set a goal and I go for it. Sure, it would be better to keep records, but that takes time away from the gym.
BB Accomplishments:
Can bench my weight. I curl 45 once each arm. My weak, post-injured shoulder is now my best shoulder.
Cut down to 8-10% body fat, develop my legs and widen my lats.
Goal (Long):
I topped 225 back in July, dropped to 205 and slowly gaining back the weight. I had gained to much dead weight (fat) and couldn't run worth a damn. After I lost 20lbs my run times improved dramatically. Now I am working an all-round, balanced strength/cardio program.
I'll be out of here and out of the loop for a few days. No net, no gym *cry* As soon as I get back I want to bulk up, but I refuse to stop eating clean. And I want to eat as naturally as possible.
5 improvements:
Track workouts more consistently

Hey Jon, Good progress. And you gave me much positive thoughts/energy saying your once-injured shoulder is now your better one. Cool. And THanks! --Dawn Melanie
